Any year around drivers in northern states?

The simple solution would be to buy a beater for winter driving but I just don't like having two vehicles to worry about.

Yep, I will be driving my 2009 SRT8 Challenger 6-speed year around. I reside in Michigan.

My current car is a lease which I'm turning in on the 17th. The Challenger will be my ONLY transportation so I've got to make it work ;)

I've ordered the car with the F1 tires on it - they will be for spring/summer driving. Once things cool off and approach winter I will be purchasing a set of cheap wheels and a good set of winter tires (blizzaks maybe). I've heard from numerous people that snow tires + Chrysler's ESP system and these cars feel like they're on rails in the snow.

I could probably waste some money on a beater, but I'm *NOT* going to pay the monthly payments on this awesome Challenger just to have it sit in storage all winter. It's meant to be driven, and it will be!

I'm in Michigan too, Livonia area. I don't feel so bad now about considering driving one year around.

I live in NY. I will drive the Chally in everything, but snow. If it snows than I will steal my parents SUV. ;)

Not driving in the rain means I should be able to see three or four solid months here in Washington. Possibly one month in years like this year... [:@]

My pampered 2002 Thunderbird might become the winter driver, while the Challenger stays warm and toasty in the warehouse, except on clear days then stretch its legs. I also have the 1999 Ranger which might come out of retirement. I live only 8 blocks from work. Depends on what I'm doing and the weather...no absolutes for me.

My girl will stay inside under her covers all winter long (except for starting time to time). I bought a Chevy HHR for my daily year round beater. THE CAR will be only be used during warm sunny days. Illinois winters can be very bad to a car and my girl will never worry about that.

Unless it was raining, I think I'd just walk to work, Steve.

yes I ordered it when I ordered THE CAR. Some of the 08 folks raved about how well it fit and looked so naturally I had to go get one and have it standing by.

Do they make the F1 in a mud and snow studded tire... [8D]

Actually, I was wondering if they even made studded snow tires at all anymore. I always used to use them when I lived in Iowa, but having left there in '82 for cheerful South Texas, I haven't attempted to purchase any for a long time. For winter, those were the greatest things ever invented.

They are absolutely great here in Seattle where we have a great ability to create hilly and ice covered streets in the winter.
