Default audio/sound system stinks

I am very disappointed in the sound quality of this system. My Avalanche is cleaner and has more depth and it wasn't an upgrade. Please comment on your opinions. Jim

WOW

You would think that after they charge 1500 plus over the base system that you would rave about the sound. I am just venting, I LOVE this car... I just expected more. Jim

The system sounds better then the one I paid over $2K in my last car. It does require some tweaking of the audio controls as all is set at baseline from the factory.

Paladin, can you tell us what settings you think sound best?

For example, are you using the "surround" mode or stereo? F/R balance setting? Equalizer setting?

I'm impressed by the volume, but disappointed with the clarity. (Though I've never been happy with a stock sound system... this is as good as any).

Nigel.

Yep this post hits the nail on the head... this system will crank but the clarity is awful. Jim

I listen in surround mode. I love it. It is a very balanced system.

If what you guys say is true, that is sad.

With today's acoustic modeling and characterization technology you should be able to DSP a car so it sounds fabulous.

For $1500.00 I can do my own install and EQ (shoot the room) the interior and it would have a tight bass and clean highs.

I hope they fix this problem.
