In about 8 months, the new 2008 Challenger will be unveiled and all of our questions will be answered.

At this time, I am anxious to know the following:

1. How many will be produced the first year (i.e., dealer availability)?
2. What will be the engine options (especially the SRT)?
3. What types of transmissions will be offered?
4. Will the hood scoops be functional like the concept car?
5. Will a racing-style gas cap be incorporated into the design?
6. Will there be more than 1 striping option (i.e., hood or side)?
7. Will the front and rear tires be different sizes like the concept car?
8. Will the car have hood pins?
9. Will the interior look as cool as the concept car?
10. Will front and rear spoilers be incorporated into the design?
11. What colors will be offered?
12. Will a shaker hood be an option?
13. And most important, what will be the MSRP?

What are your burning questions??

This is just my opinion, but I think all the above will find its way on the Challenger before its run ends. You will see the Challenger go through what the Mustang has. They will resurect any image associated with the Challenger. T/A, Shaker, R/T, SRT, SE, Western, Vanishing Point, Rallye, SXT and any other you can concieve. Lemon twist, Go-man-go, Hemi orange. Sub lime, Panther pink, Tor red, Electric blue, Aspen white, Super bee, Bill board strips, bumble bee stripes, 5.7 6.1 6.4 6-speed manual, 6-speed auto and then the Richard Petty edition, Ronny Sox, Dick Landy, Mark Donahue, Swede Savage. OK I got carried away, can you guys think of some more possibilities?????

I really hope not. Take a lesson from Mustang...don't dilute the brand. I support a few options but let people do the majority of that stuff with aftermarket gear.

I am also thinking that a 6.4 may be offered. In the May 16 SRT Chat Session, the SRT engineers did not deny it and said to watch for the Woodward Cruise (in August).

Okay, Okay, before this gets out of hand, these are just shear speculation.

Guys and gals, if I have some real information you will know it. I will make a big deal out of it and the tone
of my posting will be intense and I won't just be happening to reply to a post, it will have it's own post in big blue
letters like I always do.

I too hope that the 6.4L will be offered in year 2 as I do not expect to see it in year one, but I could be wrong.

This is what I think:

I think the hood scoops will be real intakes, but with no butterfly valve.
Front and rear tires will be the same size.
Definately no hood pins.

Some of these things would be nice, but they don't often make it onto production car. I'm already disapointed that there is going to be a b-piller, but not at all suprised. I'm just glad they're not changing it to something totally different from the concept car, like they did with the Charger.
