Default Challengers and Thunderbirds in the Motor City

two years ago, I hosted an event here in and around Detroit for the Retro birds. It was called Motown Thunder. It was a big hit with 30 cars for a week long trip through the Motor City.

The Thunderbird Nest group has asked me to set up a mini event next summer.

Please respond to these ideas and give me some ideas of what days during summer June, July

ideas include:
Arrive Detroit near Auburn Hills on Thursday night and stay over
Friday AM Walter P Chrysler Museum and Meadowbrook (Dodge) Mansion, dinner at Rain Forest Cafe
Saturday AM check out, drive cross town for Edsel B Ford mansion, lunch at mansion, afternoon driving tour of downtown and Indian Village or Boston Edison historic neighborhoods, or tour of Henry Ford Mansion in Dearborn and check in at Local Dearborn area hotel.
Sunday Hernry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village and/or Rouge Truck assembly tour (if running), local dinner at Fort Street Brewery and visit to my memorabilia collection, stay Sunday night
Leave for home Monday

other options include: Saturday night amature stock car racing at Flat Rock Speedway, Automotive Hall of Fame, Detroit River
Dinner Cruise, dinner at revolving restaurant at top of Renaissance Center

You might want to double check when the Museum is open. Last thing I know it was only open 1 or 2 days a week.

So far there seems to be 0 interest. WPC is closed on Mondays. But certainly I would work out all details and confirmations.

stevelegel, this sounds like a cool idea. While Detroit is not in my normal area of visitation I can certainly wander my way over there for an event such as this.
