RE: Are Cold Air Intakes Worth the Cost?

We did multiple things at once so I have no direct Chanllenged data. This is just observations from other cars we have worked with.

A lot of what is seen with the CAI kits is the flow path through the tubing and how it enters the motor. The flow may not be as smooth or uniform as the factory although the factory set up may be a bit restricted in comparison. This is where the difference is between CAI's. Dodge is doing their homework very well on the intake systems and we see the same results in the 08' Viper to these mods.
So you saw no change as well?

The latest Hot Rod magazine tested several mods for the Challenger. The K&N CAI registered a gain of 32HP! The Challenger has a full 3 inch exhaust so the flow path really gains from the CAI. See the link below.

We had a Mopar CIA, Kooks headers and catted X-pipe, and a diablo tuner and only got 464hp so I find it hard to believethe K&N CIA is that effective.
But you never know we may try it alone on the next one first to verify.

well isn't it true that after you install a mod like CAI the first DYNO is going to be a bit more than the second or third one being the computer hasn't tuned it yet? So really that 32hp is inaccurate because it was prolly the first run after the installation.
To get a true reading don't you need to do several runs??? I've always heard this and even read this for other CAI manufacturos.
