Default Deal for members of this site

As posted previously, I think we should examine the possibility of organizing the members in making a mass purchase/mass deal/mass negotiation with a dealer. Unheard of, for sure, but so is this opportunity...

If not cars, how about accessories. I know I have at least $600-700 in accessories I need right now and will buy soon. Maybe dealers that advertise on here would be interested in offering discounts?

Hey guys, I will be happy to approach the dealer where I bought this 08 and make the following proposal. Orders that come from members of this site will be sold at the price half way between
MSRP and dealer invoice. I will discuss a $1000.00 down and $199.00 doc fee for each car. I will be able to speak with him on Monday. This dealer is in Georgia. If you are really interested get me a number together so I can approach him.

I like the thought, but the way cebrus/dodge has hedged information, I'm not sure it would be the same thing all over again. Dodge/cebrus dictates where, when and how many of the cars go to where and to whom. That is obvious. I would really like to know how many dodge dealers there are in the good ole usa. Like I said earlier Dodge in writing stated each dealer was guarranteed a challenger. One would naturally assume each dealer would recive their challenger before a dealer would receive their second challenger. This will soon be proved by facts and not fiction very soon. Even if you went by order entered this will also be proven soon. Just some thoughts and hopefully there are only quality control issues and efforts in making the cars as perfect as possible causing all of this delay and speculation.

BTW; every review I've read just drives the passion more & more to drive the challenger and feel for yourself the power and handling characteristics. I have not read a negative article yet. Go green articles don't count as they do not reflect respect for engineering in motion.

I am in georgia and I might be interested however I might not be buying this car until march 09 or later. If you do negotiate this deal with him I'd be interested to know which dealer it is.

OK, as a dealer I will be glad to work with you guys as a group but I see a couple of problems with this. Yesterday another member asked me about allocations, let's put it this way. Let's say we as a group have 10 people that are in on a negotiated deal and place deposits/orders. Just because i put in 10 orders doesn't mean I'm gonna get 10 cars. They will be allocated to me on a basis of how many other Dodge cars I have sold in the past like Chargers, Avengers etc. And they are allocated monthl,y, so one club member could get their car 1 ,2 or even 3 months ahead of another that was negotiated at the same time ?

I've thought about it and I do NOT see a way around this ? Other than to say whoever puts the money down first goes in order 1,2,3 etc. etc.

Give me your guys' thoughts and I'll try to help.

I cannot see a group buy on cars as working out smoothly. It's possible, but I only see minor problem after minor problem being run into at best-case scenario, just like npeifer said.

I would, however, likely be interested in group-buys on accessories like the seats/door sills/mopar CAI/etc. -- stuff that is easier to 'guarantee'.
