Don't worry about all Mustangs...
...o.k., this wasn't a fair fight, but we had a great time last night.
Every Wednesday night we all gather at the local hot rod shop. Been there about 15 minutes and one of the guys who has been "flogging" his Mustang GT with mods shows up...and well one thing leads to another and of course we line them up. Is this a great country or what?
Bone stock Hemi Orange Challenger, 430 miles on it. Two fat guys in it. Me at 240 lbs and Lil' Nikka about 230 lbs.
Great looking Black 2008 Mustang GT /4.6 L - he has added bigger throttle body, added 4:11 gears, and a performance tune chip/flash. 2 medium size fellers about 175 lbs apeice.
1st run, rolling start, he jumps about 1/2 car length out in front. (4:11 gear) I close when he shifts to 2nd and he misses the shift to 3rd, and it was walking away after that. Not even close...I shut it down at 125 mph.
2nd run, rolling start, instant replay, he doesn't miss the shift this time, but the Chally just walks away and takes him by 2 full car lengths and opening.
1) It opened up a lot of peoples eyes! Some very surprised Ford fans there.
2) Not really a fair run because of the displacement disparity...but...
3) The old adage holds true. "There is no replacement for displacement."
I couldn't have been more pleased.

How dare you pick on the poor GT stang with your Beast
Thats like picking a fight with a four year old retarded child
Mustang owners get 2 choices
Displacement or replacement

i wonder the purpose of the larger throttle body? it really wouldnt do that guys gt any good on a NA engine! now im not boasting but my gt, with 4# of boost ,would beat my srt8 challenger!!! that being said i love both my cars !!!! vynle

with upgraded traction on the gt,( watts link, lowering springs, wider rear tires for better grip) i think it would be a close race. stock gt's arnt anything to brag about , but once you start putting the right mods together their nothing to sneeze at.

Vynle,
What if the SRT8 had the same 4lbs of boost... still think stang?

I make a great living with the Mustang crowd, and know that with a few mods you can pull better 60's then the challenger will ever dream of. Good thing the 1/4 mile is more then 60 foot
I think to compare you have to look at both N/A, or both at boost. Either way the challenger is a better starting point with the semi hemi math, and larger C.I. displacement.
