Door/Fender Alignment

Somewhere on the forum I can remember someone talking about this subject. Well, my alignment was perfect until yesterday. I now have about 490 miles on the car. When I took it in to the body shop to have the rear spoiler painted, I noticed that the driver's door and the front fender looked different. About midway down the front edge of the door, it looked like it had sucked in slightly. There is a slotted fender fastener in that location and I suspect that the fender may have moved out slightly giving this misaligned look. The bodyman was going to make the necessary adjustment. Just wanted to let you all know. I did a search and couldn't find the original thread about this subject.

I just noticed mine on the driver's side is a hair off too. Haven't looked yet but wonder if that is an easy adjustment I can make myself on the fender?

The black rivets that hold the black plastic wheel well to the fender must be removed and a long socket extension used to reach the head of the bolt. After adjusting, you must re-rivet the fender to wheel well. There are many styles of these rivets, so you might want to make sure you have the same style. Remember, the fender is suposed to be unnoticeably farther out to keep from having wind noise. Mine was noticeable.

Thanks for the info. Mine is noticable too. Looks like someone leaned on the door to hard at the top and it moved in but I would guess the fendor is actually out to far on top.

I originally posted the observation, but have not taken any action to get it fixed until I know what the fix is and how successful the results are. Let me know.
