How Far for a Good Deal?

I was wondering how far most of us would go for a good deal when the Challenger is finally in the showrooms?

One of my friends could not get a fair price on a 2007 Charger SRT locally in NJ, but found a dealer in North Carolina (after researching the web) who would sell him one a little over invoice. He rented a car and drove 9 hrs. (548 miles) and saved $8,000!

I guess this is a lesson learned. We will all have to shop around to avoid being ripped off by greedy dealers.

Hey Cuda,

I live in Toronto, Ontario and plan to drive down to the States to buy mine....I'd be saving a lot more than $8000 taking into the new $1.05 exchange rate.

So I'd be willing to drive to a different country LOL...

NC, why not...be a nice road trip! Keep this thread updated for best places to buy a new Challenger!

If you found the Challenger that you want from a dealer 500 miles away, would you drive it home or have it delivered by a custom car hauler for $1,100?

My initial thought was to have it delivered, but now I think I would pick it up myself to look it over and have the fun of driving it home.

I would probably do what that one person did, rent a car/truck, a trailer and tow it back myself. There is no way I would drive a new car that many miles when it's new like that. If what they say about a new car break in period is true then that would definitely ruin that break in period.

RE: How Far for a Good Deal?

hi y'all.

my local dealer called today. This is order week. I am #2 on their order list. In the next few days, I'll visit them, place the order and leave a deposit for my Challenger.

In 2000, I ordered/received one of the very first PT Cruisers (at list) from this dealer. In 2003, I ordered/received one of the very first 300 HEMI C's from this dealer. again no markup. I've been satisified with their service over the past 7 years and have no reason to expect any thing different this time.

once the order is final, I'll provide an update to this forum and let you know how it went. Can't wait til next spring!
