Old Mopar Body Types
 

What is amazing are the very different body types for all of the different cars back in the day.

A- Were typically compact cars like the Duster, Demon, Scamp
B- Were bigger cars like the Road Runner, Charger,, Coronet, Superbird, and Satellite
C- Were the oceanliners of cars like the Fury, Monaco, Polara, Newport
E- These broke the mold and were the smaller body types for our favorites the Challenger and Barracuda

I saw this on the web and thought I would post it. Look at the different car lengths.

Rear Wheel Drive:

A Body--1960-1976.
Plymouth: Valiant (all), Barracuda ('64-'69), Duster ('70-'76), Scamp ('71-'76)
Dodge: Lancer ('61-'62), Dart ('63-'76), Demon ('71-'72), Dart Sport ('73-'76)

I find it interesting that the new Challenger will be more classic B-body size....I'm down with that. E-body or B-body size I not care, just build me that car.

Yes, I am assuming the 4" shortened LX brings it done to the LY size (116") and the LY is what they decide to use. You are right though, it will be closer to the older "B" size.

I guess we will have more leg rear in the rear passenger seat.

The LY is what is supposed to support a manual transmission which the LX does not.
