Default One Amazing Month

It has been reported on another forum that, in the past month, dealers have taken orders for 17,000+ Challengers (3,450 SRT8s).

The SRT8s are close to being sold out for the time being. The remaining SRT8s will be held for the B5 blue later this year.

This huge pre-sale is incredible since almost all of the orders were based on photos, videos, and car show viewings.

Not to be disrespectful, that is great and all, but doesn't mean anything if they can't deliver the 08's.

The last of the 2008s will be built by the end of the 2nd week in July- before the factory closes for 2 weeks. 2008 was the first year of production and delays were expected due to unanticipated problems (e.g., the short caused by a pinched wiring harness).

I expect the 2009 run to go much smoother (and quicker).

I don't think building is the issue it is shipping the darn things. There must be quality issues that is holding them up. I did see pictures today which showed a truck full of challengers.

Please quote your "source"
I dont buy the fact that they will limit ANY model including the SRT8. [:@]

The SRT, in all models, has been limited to keep it an exclusive car. Typically, this has been in the 5,000 range.

On the other hand, Dodge has already stated that the Challenger R/T will be its "bread and butter car." They will build as many as they can.

Wow! 17,000+, I wonder if I am counted in that total. Slap me silly - I just had my order placed last Friday (the 13th!) for a White 09 RT! Woohoo!
