I think he wants you to put it on ebay no reserve. That would be "The Challenger Challenge" see what happens.I dont have time to screw around thats why I said f- it and shopped last Friday.I ordered mine 12/3 and got the greed mark up a month later on 1/7.That dealer gets my car in 8/11 if lucky,we know how that goes.BTW check Bluebook, price goes down not up.

Predicting future collector car values is nearly impossible. If anyone knew that the old challenger would be worth so much now, they would have sold a whole lot more...and then they would not be valuable. "Future collector value" is no reason to overpay for a car. The 08's are fairly priced, and a small markup for those who have to have it NOW is understandable, but anyone paying 20% over sticker because they think the car will be worth six figures in the future is deluding himself to the dealers benefit.

I hope the rightfully proud and happy 08 owners do not take this as an attack, because it is not intended as one. Automobiles are a wonderful hobby, but with very few exceptions they make horrible investments. If you want fun, buy a challenger. If you want an investment, buy some stock or some land.

So I should not have it parked in my living room?

Well, there have been sculptures that were less awesome and cost more, so I guess it's not all bad. The burnouts must be bad for your floor though....;)

Probably not a good idea if your living room is on the second floor like mine is...[:@]

VERY TRUE AND INTELLIGENT RESPONSES AND TO QUOTE YOU "WITH VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS" DOES A CAR NOT GO DOWN IN VALUE. BUT THE KEY IS HOW QUICKLY DOES IT START TO GO BACK UP!!!! EXAMPLE: 1992 DODGE VIPER. FIRST YEAR. MSRP AROUND $55K+ LETS SAY 10K MARKUP. AFTER THE BLUE BOOK CONTINUED TO FALL FOR THE FIRST 12-14YRS ITS NOW STARTING TO GO BACK UP AND FOR AN AVERAGE ONE WITH LOW MILES, BLUE BOOK NOW IS $36,000. AND ARE GOING AT THE AUCTION IN GREAT SHAPE FOR AROUND $50K HOW MUCH IS THE #1 VIPER WORTH?????

THESE 6500 NUMBERED CHALLENGER SRT'S WILL START TO GO BACK UP EVEN QUICKER!!!!! THERE ARE THOSE WHO DABBLE IN REAL ESTATE OR STOCKS BUT THEN THERE ARE THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT THERE DOING AND "MAKE ALOT OF $$$$" DOING IT!

The reason that some Challengers are worth six figures or more is because they were rare optioned cars. Like Hemi equipped ones or 440 Six Pack cars or 340 Six Pack TAs. Keep dreaming if you think a car with 6,399 almost identical cars will all appreciate to six figure values-even 30 years from now.

Chew on this: In the 1971 model year the Challenger only had 59 Hemi equipped cars. Now THAT is rare, and understandably commands a premium price.

My point is you cant determine the current Challengers future value by looking at the old, rarer Challengers current value.
Investment wise a car is a liabilty-not an investment like property or a house.

He is only trying to justify his/their greed to make as much profit as possible. Which there is an old saying for that "pigs go to market and hogs go to slaughter".

Believe me, there are many of us who paid MSRP who are not affiliated with Dodge, me for one. Will I post my contract, yes, if you will bet me one of those new Challenger's you have. Deal?

Am I a collector...heck no, just someone who loves the look of the car and plans to enjoy it. Put it in the garage and cover it up if you want, but I will drive mine and enjoy it, thanks. By the time it is really worth something I will be pushing up daisies.

ORIGINAL: AHASENBERG

THE FIRST YEAR 6500 NUMBERED CHALLENGERS ARE NOT FOR THE AVERAGE JO OR THE GUY WHO THINKS THERE COOL!!!! THEY ARE FOR INVESTORS, COLLECTORS AND TRUE CHALLENGER ENTHUSIESTS. EVERYONE WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT THE PRICE OF THESE CANT OR SHOULDNT BUY ONE. YOU NEED TO BUY/ORDER YOUR 2009 MASS PRODUCED SE/RT! (SEE #1 AUCTONED AT BARRETT/JACKSON FOR $400,000.+) IF EACH ONE OF THE 6500 DECLINED A SMALL % EACH, WOULDNT THAT MAKE #6500 STILL WORTH WAY OVER M.S.R.P.???????? FOR ANYONE WHO PAID M.S.R.P OR LESS FOR THEIRS AND ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH DODGE IN ANY WAY, I CHALLENGE YOU TO POST YOUR CONTRACT FOR ALL TO SEE!!!!!
