If you need to ask it's probably the wrong car or maybe the SE might be more in line.

No offense intended - If I were considering a daily driver I would consider the better mileage and warrantee RT or SE. With the limited miles I will drive supporting the MPG disclaimer (actual mileage may vary) the SRT is me.

RE: Owners - What MPG are you getting?

Thanks jh27_1970...yes, this is a curiousity post not a decision maker for myself. I had seen hints that the MPG was better than the sticker says. And I think somewhere on this forum I saw someone say they were getting 19 MPG.

And even if this were a decision maker, I don't see how asking means this is the wrong car. Maybe if someone knows it is consistently getting 17 MPG vs. 14 MPG that will make the decision for them. Keep in mind that "the first MPGs are worth more than the later MPGs". See http://news.duke.edu/2008/06/gpmfuqua.html This was on yahoo.com the other day too.

exactly why isit wrong to make a decision on this. I myself am wondering how much mpg the 6.1 challenger is getting because if you calculate it frankly 17mpg with mds 5.7L vs 14mpg mds-less 6.1l its a no brainer to go with the 6.1 becuase you arent saving a whole lot going withthe 5.7 which is not the animal that the 6.1 is. so think about the statements you make to fellow challenger lovers looking for help from friendly people who share the same interest in the car. hope this helps mfillini5. a 40k car doesnt mean u have to be loaded with cash to afford the gas. for that get a supercar like the viper which any wealthy person canpay for the 5mpg.

If you're worried about MPG and looking at a Challenger, something is wrong. If gas prices and/or MPG concern you, you'd be best with the V6 at minimum or simply going with another car. It kind of defeats the purpose of being so concerned about MPG yet buying a V8 guzzler (R/T or SRT8). If the minor gas cost increase from R/T to SRT8 is going to break the bank and the only thing holding you back from getting an SRT8, money is obviously VERY tight for you and you probably shouldn't be buying either car. There are more important things in life then breaking the bank on a car.

Also, the Viper gets BETTER mileage than the Challenger SRT8. So if you want good mileage grab a Viper ;)

RE: Owners - What MPG are you getting?

lol my friend has a viper and it does not get even close to 13....so msg fuel.poop to change their stats because i highly doubt a v10 600 hp viper is going to get better mpg than a 425hp v8.....and rich people like to save gas too... get the r/t if the extra ponies isnt a big dealfor u cuz u save alot of money stickin with the r/t the mpg are pretty much the same as the srt8.

edit** i didnt take account weight difference but the challenger should ge tbetter mpg than wat paper says charger srt8s are getting 15-18 city so i expect people to give more info as they fill up and drive.

All owners are currently getting 0 MPG. They are sitting in their driveways having burnout-gasms.
