Real Carbon Fiber Hood for Challenger

Checkout the two pages of after market parts for the new Challenger on pages 76 and 77 of the February 09 issue of Musclecar Enthusiast Magazine. Included is a picture of a real Carbon Fiber Hood as well as electronically actuated hood inlets as used on the concept Challenger. (Wonder if they can be mounted on the stock hood?) So for those of you that want more than just "Carbon Fiber" stripes....
The hood as well as other Carbon Fiber parts such as, headlight surrounds, front splitter, rocker panels and rear spoiler are available from "drake muscle cars"....

The site listed is www.drakemusclecars.com, but this site doesn't appear to be correct.....

I have found this on another site. Hate to show it, but the only place I can find anything:
Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood

Very cool. I love my Challenger SRT8 even with its massive weight but think of the performance gains with carbon fiber parts. They could look really cool also. A clear coated carbon fiber hood would be hot. I would store the original hood proudly displayed on my garage wall and have the fastest Challenger around....

Drake Automotive Group will have a carbon fiber hood out this spring. They do not have any information on their website at this time. They are launching a new company this spring and they will have several parts available when they launch their new company. It is said that the carbon fiber hood is lighter than the box it ships in. Here are a few pictures of their prototype. It will list around $900.00. All of the carbon fiber pieces are a matte finish, although gloss will be available. They will have some other carbon fiber trim and facia parts.

To save money they will also offer a combination carbon fiber on the top and fiberglass on the bottom version.

They will also have a kit to add powered louvers in the air inlets of the hood. They will open as the gas pedal is depressed, much like the concept car had.

RT,

Do you have any literature on these hoods? I'm interested for sure, can you forward me a link or contact?

Is anyone familar with www.usspeedo.com? They offer gauge face kits for the Challenger (orange and black). Here are pictures of their face kits. I am not sure how close these pictures are to the actual color but you get the idea. They sound expensive at $189 each.

What do you guys think?
