Side Stripe
 

Has anyone seen the side fender stripe of the Challenger R/T. There was one posted on redletterdodge. See:

What do you think of it. To me, it resembles too much a mid-70s Road Runner or GTX.

Ive been wanting to see this hood to fender stripe, but redletterdodge is blocked where Im at so I cant see it. If its anything like the 72 road runner strobe stripe that runs from the hood bulge to the front wheel opening count me out. Can you post a pic of it here?

I like it better than the goofy looking SRT-8 carbon fiber stripes that are on my hood. I will be changing my hood this summer.

I like the srt hood stripes much better . I think the hood fender stipe kinda stinks .

I wondered if anyone else was iffy about the stripe. Im getting ready to order mine and Im on the fence about not getting the stripe. Of course I have yet to see one.

They can't be serious. That stripe is hideous. I had imagined something traditional consisting of the SRT hood stripe combined with the traditional R/T stripe posted above. The stripe they have presented seriously sucks. Glad I waited on pricing as I will skip this option and go aftermarket.

The new stripe doesn't bother me so much I think it does give a different look for the RT
Neither love nor hate it but it does give the RT its own identity a little more

So THAT is what they meant by hood to fender stripe in the buyers guide. It doesn't look too bad, but Im with you guys. Not for me.

Still, there are possibilities. I whipped this up with paint. Not a great chop, still not convinced its the answer. Sort of a modification of the SRT stripe with the R/T ones, but I like it better than the stock stripes alone.

Glad I passed on the strip for my R/T. Just dosn't look right.

In reply to Halisfying and Boot camp I was told by my dealer that the stripes come over the hood down just as far as the first body line then back to just past the door edge and then end with the R by the top stripe , a / in the middle and the T by the second stripe . so if in your second picture if you'd move the side stripes up from near the bottom to about midway I think thats what he meant. I'm not sure if that true yet, so I appologise if it turns out wrong. In any case I wail see as its on my order. Good luck to everyone and HAPPY MOPARING !!!!! FATCAT

Definenty give me a R/T without the stripe. I'll get a paint shop to slap the classic R/T on.:)

I think the T\A stripe was the best looking on the Challenger. Maybe that with this on the lower fender to mimick the old T\A.

A friend of mine had a 1970 T/A. I agree that the stripe on it was very cool. Much better than the 1972 "Road Runner" stripe that Dodge has come up with!

I don't think it is too bad, I'm glad they even attempted it. I'm hoping they eventually offer several stripe options. You know the aftermarket will, so they may as well make a buck on it.

Yeah I guess they might as well make a buck on it but they could of went a lot farther with it. Jeez... I don't mind it at all but when I heard hood to fender i thought of the stripes that went down to the tail end of the car... I agree with Mopar Nut the Stripe should start at the head light and end somewhere close to the tail end of the car... What-ever not to bad though... I don't know if I'd pay money for it though... I'll wait and see it in person... Prolly an aftermarket thing for sure... ONE MORE THING DODGE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER AND THEY KNOW IT!!!!!

i agree...the stripe is horrendous...they knew what the needed to do and they did not...why did dodge basically give the market on stripes to the aftermarket..i just do not understand their thinking anymore..i mean how hard is it to call 3M and have a decent stripe cut
