Default Some Weird Wire

When I picked up my R/T a few months back, when I got home I discovered some connector wire in a sealed plastic bag. No part number on it or anything. It looks like something that might somehow connect to the Car's computer and a laptop computer??

Did anyone else find this in their car? What is it?

If I had a picture of it I would upload it.

I think that is for connecting an IPOD, although there is also the universal single pin connector right on the front of the radio. The other end of that wire you are talking about plugs into a port inside the center console. It should also charge the IPOD (I don't think the single pin connector on the radio will charge an MP3 player).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It is for connecting an IPOD, the other end is in the console. If you use this connection instead of the AUX one on the radio face you will be able to control your ipod from the Radio's touchscreen, and yes it will charge your IPOD's battery.

I don't have a touch screen...
I will check my center console to see if there is a place to connect something in there. I only thing I saw in there was an accesory electric outlet, but I never looked in there for anything else.[8D]

Also, look on the inside of your glove box. It seems to me that I read once where some cars are equipped with an iPod connector port inside the glove box. That may be wrong (mine doesn't have one), but it might be worth a look.

If you dont have a plug in anywhere and that connector is just going to sit in a drawer gathering dust I will give you my address where you can send it if you dont want it.
