Weather Dilemna

A weather dilemna for all Challenger owners who live in the northern states-

If you don't get your Challenger until mid-winter, how much will you drive it if the roads are full of snow, ice and salt?

I want to keep my Challenger in showroom condition but, after waiting almost two years' for the car, it will be hard to restrain myself and not drive it!

If you do drive it in bad weather, how will you keep it clean? Brushless car wash?

The solution's easy. Buy two. That's what I intend to do. ;)

I have been thinking about this a lot. It will be torture, but my only winter drive will be from the dealership into my garage. If you ordered the performance tires you don't want to get caught in snow. (or rain I'm guessing)

You're right. The summer performance tires have a very soft compound (wear out fast- cost $275 ea.) and their grip starts to progressively fade as the temperature falls below 60 degrees. I have also heard that they are good in the rain, either.

Since I intend to drive my car in cold dry weather, I will keep the Goodyear all-season tires. I figure that when they wear out, I'll upgrade to a higher-rated all-weather tire.

I dont know when my 09 will arrive. I actually hope not till April but if its earlier it will stay at the dealer untill the roads are clear enough for a shot home and into the garage and under soft warm bankies untill spring.[8D]

I have the same problem living in Jersey, but my wife has the solution. She wants to move to Arizona. I can drive all year long.

Seeing as how this is a play car for me it will never ever see snow except when I inadvertanly open its garage door in the winter. I hope to never have it in rain either but thats a real quirky thing and can't say never on that one. My wife has the same solution move South again!
