What tires are you using for your Challengers
I was just wanting to find out from everyone what tires you have currently on your challengers. Are the stock OEMs good enough to stick with or are you planning to (or already have) replace them with something else?
|
mine are ok, they are crap but ok, they are the oem stock Continentals, but they are hard to find and expensive to replace, for the cost of 2 alone I can outfit all 4 with a better named brand tire.
I'm just going to burn mine off and then go with a Falken |

Firestone M & S on the stock rims for winter, 20" Michelins on chrome rims for the summer.
|
Alright so you have winter tires and summer tires? I thought about doing the same for my car but came to the conclusion that we didn't get bad enough snow to justify it.
|
We've been in Calgary for 17 years and for 12 of those you could have gotten away without the snows. The last 2 have been brutal though.
Also, by running the winters I am extending the life of the summers so it balances out the expense. |
just bought new wheels and tires as mine is the base SE with 17"
bought MB KL-77 20"x9" wheels and went with 255/45-20 yokohama prada spec x tires. unfortunately there was too much salt still on the road after i put them on last week to properly put them through their paces and with snow forecast again for this friday in to saturday that problem will continue. i was told on another site that i would be extremely happy with the handling of the car once they were installed. |
At 25,000 miles its time for some new rears. Does anyone have a suggestion for some semi sticky 20" rears. I need traction and I live in the South so snow is not a concern. Nittto. Kumos, Perelli P 0s?

I still have the stock Goodyear Eagle RSAs on my Challenger. Before I buy a new set, I would research the best tire on the tire rack web site.

Both V8Lite and I have the SXT (SE - with a canadian upgrade package) that came equiped with the 18's.
Hey Mark, been awhile, how's the beast? |
I still have the OEM ones the factory put on the R/T.

Does anyone know of a tire brand that would have a raised white letter model for my 20" heritage wheels?

She's running great. Is it Spring yet? I want to dump the snows, get the 20s back on and run her out to the coast. No problems since the cam shim was installed. How's your new one? Can you drive her with confidence now?

BFG have a couple styles, and I think Hoosier has street radials with white lettering, tire manufactures are making retro style tires, more of that classic muscle car like they originally came with. If I can find the links I'll post them up.

^ BFG RAdial T/A's have the raised white lettering, those would be a nice "old school" looking tire.
Mickey Thompson has some this is a great site - www.universaltire.com ( Iused these guys for my 1953 Sunbeam rubber) (Goodyear) Hotrod Hanks - http://www.hotrodhanks.com/products/tires/ |
well I started out with the stock continentals but after getting a spike in the sidewall and had to get new tires because I couldn't not find a match anywhere where I was at. So I put on 4 new Firestone Firehawk GT's Same size as the continentals but in a performance tire. These tires had super grip for sure and superb tire wear. They have 10,000 miles on them and still have 10/32 tread depth. I took those off when a car club member bought new rims for his R/T so I got the chrome clads from him and bought the Goodyear RSA's 245/45/20. So far it is a nice ride indeed.
BTW, I am selling the 18" rims with the Firestone's for $600 :D |
