Default What is up with some dealers?

I have been looking for a new RT the past couple of weeks, and the local dealer here has just what I want. Only problem is they have a $10,000 mark up, So they want $43,000 for the R/T.
I went to their web site last night and the R/T there is listed for $33,000. I checked again this morning and that is what its listed for on the window sticker and on their site.
But when I walk in today they tell me there is the market value mark up. These guys are absolutly nuts. I tell them thats not what is advertised on their website and they basically ignore that. So I get to work to print out the web ad, and low and behold its not there.
I was there for 2 hours this morning and they said they wanted to wrap it up before they got busy, but I was the only one there the entire time, No wonder these guys are going under.
Needless to say, I told them to call me when they come to their senses.

They do it because somebody pays it, or some portion of it.

And these days where not much is moving, they need to maximixe profit where they can.

Look on ebay or use the Dodge webite to email different dealers. Do a little work and soon enough you will be able to do a donut in their parking lot.

Because some saps actually paid the markups on the 08 SRTs, many dealers still think they can get away with doing the same for the 09s. My suggestion is don't deal with ANY dealer trying to screw you by trying to even make you pay MSRP, let alone a markup.

There are dealers out there willing to deal. You may have to travel to find one, but it's worth it IMHO, even if it's just on principle. My dealer offered $1500 off for starters without even haggling. If some dealer is actually trying to get a 10 thou markup just on an R/T, he's not worth your time - at all. Walk away.

Right now at Lithia Chrysler Dodge of Eugene save $2,000 off MSRP on all new Dodge Challengers, Chargers and Chrysler 300s in stock. Think of it as our holiday gift to you, big savings on some big, powerful new cars. But hurry, it's only for a limited time.

To get your hand on your own Challenger, Charger or 300 give us a call: [866] 956-4161 for $2,000 off MSRP.

Talk to you Soon.

Example: New 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T 5.7L HEMI VIN#9H511356 MSRP $48,795, Lithia Discount $2,000 Once In A Lifetime Price $46,795. Expires 1/2/09

Local Dealer here had two R/T's last week, you would pay sticker at worst. one was around $35K and Blue, the other was $38.6K and black

The past month has seen Challengers beginning to sit on lots, at least around here. Paying MSRP now is as bad as the first SRT's selling for 5-10K over sticker. Broaden your search and you will get a deal.

Hey Mopar2ya, you were trying to win the 09 Challenger also huh? Yeah, that's the same e-mail I got after they announced the winner. To bad it wasn't one of us huh? Keith Miller of Eugene. Mine doesn't give an example of pricing though, just says $2,000 off MSRP on Challengers, Chargers and 300s in stock. But I have to go to Dodge of Eugene so that could be a travel.

I would love to print this out and give it to my dealer when my Challenger comes in, but it would be a moot point since it says limited time and Challengers in stock. Though I have a feeling that by the time I get my Challenger, that MSRP or even $1,000 under MSRP will be easy to haggle with since I'm sure I would be able to get it much lower then that by that time.

Do people understand that as long as people like me will pay 10k over sticker then the dealers will keep marking them up ... it's just buisness.
