My worst fear came true. Since I ordered my SRT from Champion Dodge on May 16, I have not been pleased with how long it took to reach D status (Sept. 15) or the total lack of communication.

On Monday, I discovered that the dealership went out of business and that my May 16 SRT order was cancelled!! Their voice mail said "it was due to economic conditions."

Later, I found out that the former general manager is meeting with a Chrysler rep. today to see if the orders can be transferred to another dealer. I am praying that this happens. I have waited too long-almost 6 months- to have the rug pulled out from under me at the last minute!!

I'll keep you guys posted.

P.S. The only person happy about this situation is my wife. She wants to get her hands on my Challenger money to remodel our house. I told her that nothing has changed. It may just be a little longer until the car appears in my driveway.

 

That really sucks....Sorry to hear that, and at such a late date.....hope they can work with you.....no wonder there are not more Challengers on road, with all the hoops they are making you guys jump through!!

 

What a bad deal. Man I sure hope you get it sorted out. Had you given them any cash? If so I sure hope you get it back.

 

wow that blows man ....have faith and hopfully chrysler will put their customers first for once...

OMG! That DOES suck the big one. At least the GM is taking an interest in his customers after the fact. I hope he is able to hook you up.

 

You should have no problem getting another dealer to pick it up since you probably paid too much six months ago. If I were you, I'd use this opportunity to renegotiate!

Who knows... maybe through some strange and bizarre sequence of events it will turn out better than the orignal deal... somehow...
