3000 mile break-in

I have a new torred SRT8 challenger with the 6.1 and I love it!

Was just wondering if anyone has the 3000 miles on theirs and what the power difference felt like when the chip burned out. It seems to have a lot of power right now. Can't wait to get the full enchilada of power.

Haven't decided on which cat-back system that I want but I do need a little more V8 rumble from the car.

Excuse my ignorance... but please explain "chips burns out"..

I have an R/T that I've loved since first driving it, and just recently got to 5000 miles, but didn't noticed any drastic change in power or anything..

I also wasn't too sure about the break in period so I drove it "granny-style" for the first 1700 miles or so before slowing driving it harder..

Well the dealer told me that the 6.1 motor had a timed chip or timer in the computer or something like that, that won't let the motor run at full power , and it would go away at 3000 miles.
I was just wondering if anyoine had felt a difference in power after that chip burned out?

I haven't heard about a chip, but I have heard that the computer releases some additional power after the motor reaches about 1,500 miles. I'll try to confirm this on the next SRT Engineers Chat session.
