340 challenger
hi,I am a new member to the forum and would like to say hello,to all the members of the forum. When I was 18 years old I had a 318 1970 challenger and always hoped to get a 340. well seems I finally got my wish,I just purchased a 1972 stock 340 automatic RT.I realize that this is not the high performance option and would like to make it a 1971 specification, the thing is I am from Puerto Rico and the car is in the florida area, and I would like to know if you could suggest to me a way that I could make this conversion and where.thank you very much for your help,carlosntoledo@yahoo.com

Welcome to the site. Sounds like a sweet ride you have there. I guess I'm not sure what kind of help you're looking for.... a '72 340, while down a little bit from the '71 ratings, is still no slouch, and was about as potent a small block as there was in '72. It WAS a high performance option for '72.... 340's came in performance versions only from the factory, regardless of year; if it's just some performance upgrades you're looking for, pick up a Mopar performance catalog- you'll find plenty available!
