My name is Scott Vandekerckhove. I am a new member here at this forum and I am on a mission. A mission for all of you, to be exact.

Let me cut right to the chase, I work for Chrysler on the Auto Show/Specialty Event Circuit all across the country. I work under the title of “Product Specialist.” When I am not on the Auto Show floor, I am actively involved in grass roots marketing activities, most often in Dodge. In fact, it is likely that I have met several of the members here in person at some time or another.

The highlight of my work, thus far, was a nationwide tour showcasing the Dodge Challenger when it was launched back in 2008. With the Challenger currently in full swing, and an all new Charger fast on the horizon, things are really starting to heat up.

But without the loyal fan base of Mopar enthusiasts throughout the world, where would we be?

That said, I am trying to find out what exactly Mopar clubs want from Dodge? In particular, Charger and Challenger fans everywhere.

It could be any number of things:
-Is it a centralized Official website dedicated exclusively to the clubs?
-Is it a special event held exclusively for the clubs?
-Would you want more opportunities to interact with Dodge engineers and marketing reps? Focus groups?
-Or is it a vehicle giveaway that you desire?

Bottom line: What can be done to make a true impact on the clubs? Something specific and unique that you would all enjoy!

Also, what is the best way for us to communicate with all of you in mass? What is the quickest, most direct way of getting in contact with EVERYONE?!!!

This is your opportunity to voice your ideas. We want to hear what’s on your mind. Be inventive. Be honest. Be yourselves.

Ditto to what Rman said.I,m sick and tired of the big 3 just offering their muscle cars with a bunch of sissy high priced options.I was all excited to order a Classic pkg till I heard that you had to have it their way,not my way.I am wanting a Challenger for the classic bare bones muscle,not for a dorky stereo or heated seats.Please give us a no nonsense base muscle machine.

Chrysler’s intention with the Dodge Challenger 1320 Concept, presented earlier today at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, is to offer a street-legal, drag racing-oriented version of its Challenger SRT8.





First and foremost, the Challenger 1320 adds a 426 cubic-inch aluminum Hemi V8 crate engine. The upgraded engine puts out 556 horsepower and 540 lb-ft. of torque and comes with Mopar long-tube headers and a Corsa exhaust system.
The rear axle, a Dana 60, comes with an ARB Air locker and heavy duty half shafts courtesy of Dynatrac. An adjustable coil-over kit by Mopar helps anchor the Charger police steel wheels with drag racing tires.
The Challenger loses some weight with an interior clean-up, Viper seats and a revised exterior.

Sounds great Jeremiah,but what are the chances of us seein one in our lifetime?Not much.

To heck with the fancy stuff...lets see if you can put a folding drivers' seat in the Challenger so we can get stuff (like passengers) in and out of the back seat without going around to the passenger side! :mad::confused:

Some helpful suggestions!
 

!) More color options on the SRT8 specifically Metallic colors ex "firethorn red, navy blue metallic and a "Vanishing Point" white would be nice.
2) A cooling seats a/c)option would be nice for us "sunbelt" owners.
3) All wheel drive & 4wheel steering, like GM's quadrasteer.
4) Don't feel that you have to install a sunroof in every SRT* that rolls down the assembly line. Some of us may have had skin cancer or live in a part of the country where you can only use a sunroof only 2 months out of a whole year. At $950 a pop its a very pricey and costly option. Don't believe me, check ebay and try and find a "detonator yellow" plum purple Challenger SRT8 without one and you'll see what I mean.
I think the choice that best fits what you asked is "ALL THE ABOVE". Us Challenger fans love to feel inside the loop as to what's going on or what's rumored to be going on. You can only visit so many websites trying to get the very latest facts & fantasy about our cars, trust me I've found them all.
I am a first time Mopar owner. I've driven & owned nothing but GM cars since I recieved my drivers license back in 1976. The Challenger is "head & antlers" above the competition as far as I'm, concerned. It truly is in a class by itself. I haven't been this excited about a car since my 1987 Buick Grand National purchase. That said, I am a proud and happy 2010 SRT8 owner!
As such I like to feel like part of a exclusive "fraternity" as in the 2008-10 (and counting) owners only. Let us know the very latest as to what's going on with the current version of the Dodge Challenger. I don't mean to put anyone off its just that I wish to know what's going on without having to sift through a whole lot of "older" Challenger information. As far as I'm conceerned, there's a new kid in town and its the latest incarnation of the Dodge Challenger.
Lastly anything Mopar related that will help our cars go faster, brake better, handle better and not void our new car warranties is of paramount interest to us.

Nah. Forget the "Vanishing Point" white idea. In the 1971 movie, the Challengers used were then then-standard (for Dodge) "Alpine White," an off-white that was so far off it bordered on being beige. The color didn't look bad in the movie, but in real life, it sucked. The current Stone White is a much finer color, as it's a much whiter white. If you want the Vanishing Point look, just get Stone White.

Oh...one other thing: Get rid of the stupid block-letter Challenger badges and go back to the original script insignia. I had to go to the trouble of ordering script insignia from a Mopar restoration company and then removing the block-lettering badge and throwing it away. It should never have been on the car in the first place -- and on the wrong side of the grille, to boot.
