..how sweet it is...

Hey guys! my name is Darin and I got a 2008 SRT8 about a month ago...I love it so much!!
I have no problems with the performance of this car it's definitely the fastest, most powerful car I've ever owned HOWEVER, I have some friends at work who are encouraging me to put in a cold air intake and think about putting on a cat-back exhaust. Truthfully, I don't see the need for the extra horsepower beyond the generous 425 it already has but maybe some of you more experienced challenger drivers could share some of your insight with me and point me in the right direction.

Not only will you get a few extra ponies with the CAI and cat back exhaust... you will also get a custom sound from adding those. Explore online for the sound you"re after and see if something strikes your fancy. Congrats and have fun!!

Welcome to the forums!
Sounds like you have gotten the perma-grin.
CAI,Diablo Tuner, 180 T-Stat.
The exhaust gets louder as they get older.
Enjoy!:D:D

Thanks for the welcome guys! Nice community you have here :)
I've decided to go with the K&N CAI for now and hold off on the cat-back. Maybe replace the stock mufflers with magnaflows...still kinda up in the air.
..and yep, still sportin' the PERMAGRIN!!!

Yeah, the 'zoomers' look great....but how do they rate performance wise. My buddy just got the Borla cat-back on his Jeep SRT8 and loves it.

Jeep SRT-8... man dude you are in fast company:D Yeah read on here for the mods and how folks liked what they put on. See what strikes your fancy. 425 HP with more just waiting to be tapped. I hope you don't get mod fever, because that is incureable;)

RE: ..how sweet it is...

..ok, well I decided to go with the C&L CIA and I'm really pleased with it...it has the highest CFM of all the other brands I've come across and it sounds good too. I also bought the Diablo tuner and set it up with the preprogrammed tune for 93 w/ CIA. So far I've noticed a pretty significant difference in performance...definitely seems a bit more agressive. So, mission accomplished.

Moving right along, I've been researching cat-back exhaust systems. Borla seems to be a very nice system but is it REALY worth the money. I understand it has the 304 grade stainless which makes it a bit less corrosive and more heat resistant - but apparently not by much really compared to the 409 grade SS that other more AFFORDABLE systems come with. I've taken notice of the JBA system recently and it's offered in stainless (409 grade). Has anyone heard of JBA? Seems like it's really about the same as the MAGNAFLOW system but about half the cost.

I don't mind dropping $ on this car because it's worth it of course but I'd prefer to spend wisely and get the most bang for the buck.
Any suggestions?
