Rt/se 1970

Hi,
I just found this site. I have a 1970 Challenger RT/SE with the 383, torque flight
and the optional alligator vinyl top. The car was ordered from the factory by my father-in-law and I bought it from him 5 years later. The car was stored for a number of years but I finally got it out about a year and a half ago. It runs great but the
cruise control doesn't work. I have been told I need a transducer? Any ideas where I might find such a part? The car has all the options, air conditioning, overhead console
stereo radio. Also the clock has stopped working. I've been told there are replacement clocks. The car remains stock with the exception of a set of American mag wheels
that I had on my first car ( a 1968 Plymouth GTX 440). I'm MOPAR all the way and loving it.

Welcome to the forum. I have owned two 1970 RT/SE Challengers back in the day. One was a 383 and the other was my high-school car, a loaded 440 car.....(Had a lot of fun with that one!) Not sure about the "transducer" for a cruise control is all about, but the best thing you could do, is invest in a shop manual (not one of the "repair Manuals" you find at auto parts stores, but a real factory shop manual. They are available through Year One, and others....that way you can learn more about your Challenger. As for the clock, check with vendors in one of the major Mopar Mag's that can convert your clock with modern inter workings....that way it will actually work....

Thanks for the info. I will check on the shop manual. I am going to an all MOPAR car show in
Madera Ca. this Saturday put on by the San Joaquin Valley Mopar club of Fresno. I went last year and
had a great time. Sounds like you have some very nice cars. Enjoy!!
