Default Sublime in NH

Hi All!

I just joined and thought I would post an intro.

I purchased a mid-life crisis '70 Challenger R/T last August and have had in in a restoration shop way up here in NH since. The resto is a frame off although we did not blast the original undercoating which was in good shape. The car is a NH car that was used for racing only, NO winter driving. We only had to replace the bottom 6 inches of the quarters and trunk skirts everything else is original metal.

The car is a 383 4 speed (JS23NOB) but has a 426 wedge when I purchased (yes I did say WEDGE). So we found a date coded 383 01/70 and had it rebuilt with a little cam, MOPRA high rise manifold, TTI ceramic headers and Edlebrock 750 CFM carb - 360 HP @ 5,000rpm on initial pulls.

Tere is a lot more to tell about this car and I have documented the resto project here:
http://www.linric.com/challenger/challenger.htm sorry about the high-res sloooow loading pics.

I had the car back this weekend for a test drive. It's back at the restoration shop for a few minor things. Back in my possession on Saturday AM!

Congratulations Judgester........you are one of the lucky ones to still have an old model and in great condition. The picture is awesome!

That was a great restoration project story.

Oh that is so nice. Thanks for sharing that. Welcome to the forum, Judgester! Why would they put in a WEDGE 426. I know the 426 WEDGE was more powerful than the 440, but it was never even offered in the Challenger. I'm sorry but I just don't like it when people stick in an engine that didn't come with a car, unless it is clearly superior to anything else the car offered in the line-up. For example, I like what Patrick did to his Mirada because that engine is superior to anything it had stock.

Welcome to the site, Judgester. Saw your posts over at c-c.com, where you had more pics of the Challenger there. Looks fabulous- until your posts, I wasn't even sure that Chuck Pierce was still around and in business. He used to hit a lot of the shows, but hadn't seen him in years- guess he quit the buying and selling as a sideline. His work still looks as good as ever. Where in NH are you located? I'm in Brookline myself.
