"24" is on tonight

The season premiere of 24 is on tonight.

If you have never seen it, I think it is the best action TV show of all time.

All about saving the world against terrorism plots against the U.S..

If you have never seen it and watch it tonight......give me your feedback.

Enjoy.

I'd never watched it before but did so tonight because of the San Antonio angle. It seemed like a pretty good show. However, I recently purchased (at Wal-Mart, of course) the first season of the original Mission Impossible series on DVD (the season where Mr. Briggs rather than Mr. Phelps ran the IM force). Ahhhhhh, '60s cool. Now that's REAL TV entertainment! :D

Well, I saw the 2 hours on Sunday and the next 2 hours on Monday night for a total of 4 hours of seaon premiere. Totally awesome!

If you have never seen it, at least watch one episode before you make a decision. Chloe the analyst on the show is the computer genius
but she acts so mad and pouts that is is funny. My favorite episode was when she was asked to do a field assignment and she opened up with
the machine gun and blew the terrorist away......that was awesome!

If you are an action guy, I cannot see how you would not like this show. They must spend a lot of money on props.....like the missiles
from the attack helicopter blowing up the house in LA with terrorist inside. It looked real.

RoswellGrey....of the Mission Impossible movies, I feel the 3rd one was the best even though Tom Cruise is losing his fan support.

As a boy, I too enjoyed the old TV series and Barbara Bain was a very nice, very cool lady?

I am a DIE HARD fan.... have the first 5 seasons on DVD; was so looking forward to the premier.... recorded the 1st part Sunday; then lost power due to the ice storm Monday afternoon, and didn't get it back until last night!!![:@] I see they are releasing the two part 4 hour premier on DVD.... will have to get to the video store and rent it when it's available. I'll wait for the full season to be released on DVD before I buy it!

There are few better gifts than DVD sets for Christmas as long as they aren't botched right out of the box (cough Universal Studios cough). I received three different ones this past year.

dont hate me, but i hate it...i think that its stupid.

when i worked as an auditor, living in hotels for about a year and a half, the company made us share rooms..adults, sharing rooms...anyway, i had one roommate who loved the show, and i would watch it when he watched it, and it seemed so far fetched to me, i would go shower when it would come on, as i found it so dumb that it annoyed me..

but im sure that i watch alot of shows that others think are stupid.

RE: "24" is on tonight

That is okay, I like James Bond in general especially Sean Connery but I have friends that think it is unbelievable and hokey.

That just means that when I watch it at the movies I won't go with them but we will watch other movies instead.

I am also a fanatic about Spiderman because I grew up with it in elementary school and it was part of my childhood but others don't care for it
and that is okay.

We are all different and that is a good thing. Just think, if we were all the same this world would be boring.

To each their own. The most disturbing thought is a world where everyone agrees 100% of the time. "...If you ever disagree, that means that you are wrong..." Scary!

Jeremiah: I also like Sean Connery. When I hear his name being announced in a movie, I instantly think of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, since my brother and I watched that probably over 100 times when we were younger. I also think about Parody Jeopardy with Darrell Hammond playing Sean Connery. He was my favorite person they made parodies of on SNL in the late 90s.

Do you like the latest Spiderman movies? I wasn't much of a Spiderman fan, but I think those movies are excellent.

Really? Watch Casino Royale when it comes out on DVD. It's good. I don't recommend the Pierce Brosnan ones unless you really like Pierce Brosnan.

RE: "24" is on tonight

Yes, I feel the movies did a great job on Spiderman. What is funny, is how a forum was created to discuss the heated issue of genitic vs mechanical spider webs.

In the original, comics and cartoons of the '60s Spiderman was a science student that invented the web formula and the mechanical gadget on this wrist that sprayed it.

Everybody in the forum hated that the movie had it changed to his genetics being changed and his body producing the web and his wrist squirting it out.

If course in the '60s nobody could spell DNA and the moviemakers felt the a science student would not be capable to invent the spiderweb formula since it is nature's secret
so they felt the genetics would be the way to go.

Of course, older hardcore Spiderman fans hated that and was the heated debate before the movie came out.

For me, I have gotten used to it and it works for me.

I am looking forward to the May movie introduction with Sandman being the foe.

It isn't that odd to me, there are only a very few that I like. They have to seem as though they are decent human beings for me to like them. I have a list that is too long to post of the actors and actresses that I don't like.

Jeremiah:

LOL! I didn't know they actually made a forum over that, and people say I make a big deal about petty differences (such as there shouldn't be tire-on-pavement screeching sound effects when there is nothing but dust all around in a car movie). When I throw a complaint about a TV show or movie, it is normally that I'm confused on some logical problems in the plot where you're left without an explanation. I just hope I don't make the same mistakes in the stories that I'm writing.

I'm getting excited about it as well. I wasn't interested at first about the films but after I saw the first one at either a friend's house or the friend lent it to me, I got interested. I was more of a Batman fan. I like the Tim Burton based ones from 1989 and 1992, but I wasn't crazy about the later ones done by Joel Schumacher. He got rid of the darkness and made things too whacky and fruity. Though I liked the Batman Begins. I liked the reruns of the classic TV show with Adam West playing Batman.

Jeremiah 29:11 01-18-2007 01:10 AM

RE: "24" is on tonight

Yes, the classic Batman with Adam West were the perfect show for that time because of what was going on in the world
and those guys got famous and the show was a hit.

Sam Raimi did a great job with Spiderman. As long as he keeps with the movies, I think they will be well done.

Batman Begins was my favorite of all times because it was just so dark. The Tim Burton one was good, definatley compared to the later ones. I believe with the next Batman, as long as they keep the same writers and Director and actors, it will be just as good, lke they have been doing with the SPiderman movies. I think CHristian Bale did a great job as Bruce Wayne.

Muslims protest '24'

I think it is one of the most intelligient shows on TV today. Is is portraying reality or possibility......let's hope not.

Even Senator John McCain was on a episode last season.

Muslims protest '24' ....... can you even imagine why they might, considering all of the Islamic terrorists in the world. Well Duh!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not saying stereotype but we have to be attentive and be deligent.

You can't even trust anti-government groups ala Timothy McVeigh and his friend Terry Nichols. The Oklahoma bombing occurred back in April of 1995.....way before 9/11
and even then the US government was watchful of certain extreme organizations.

"The Chicago Tribune reported that the CIA spokesman had acknowledged on the record that the agency is involved in the search. There is a description that the car bombs that were used at the Murrah building are favored by Islamic fundamentalists. It discusses in Exhibit B that Oklahoma City has an Islamic Center and the state is home to about 5,000 Muslims. It goes on to say that a television documentary linked Oklahoma City to an Islamic fundamentalist network operating out of New Jersey, Chicago and Texas. Mr. Steven Emerson, a terrorism expert and executive producer of "Jihad in America" said — and I don't think there is any question Mr. Emerson is an expert on terrorism — that Oklahoma City has been the venue for several Islamic conventions, including one in 1992 where 6,000 people cheered calls for killing of Jews and infidels. This meeting, incidentaly, took place four blocks from the Murrah building. "

Muslims protest '24'

Story Highlights• Muslim groups concerned about Fox show "24"

• Season involves Muslim terrorists, who set off nuclear bomb

CLIFTON, New Jersey (AP) -- Two years ago, Muslim groups protested when the plot of the hit Fox drama "24" cast Islamic terrorists as the villains who launched a stolen nuclear missile in an attack on America.

Now, after a one-year respite during which Russian separatists played the bad guys on the critically acclaimed series, Muslims are back in the evil spotlight. Unlike last time, when agent Jack Bauer saved the day, the terrorists this time have already succeeded in detonating a nuclear bomb in a Los Angeles suburb.

Being portrayed again as the heartless wrongdoers has drawn renewed protests from Muslim groups, including one that had a meeting with Fox executives two years ago over the issue. (Watch why "24" is worrying Muslims)

"The overwhelming impression you get is fear and hatred for Muslims," said Rabiah Ahmed, a spokeswoman for the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations. She said Thursday she was distressed by this season's premiere. "After watching that show, I was afraid to go to the grocery store because I wasn't sure the person next to me would be able to differentiate between fiction and reality."

She said the group had a conference call Wednesday with Fox executives to protest the current plot line and request more positive portrayals of Muslims on the show, but was not promised anything.

After a January 2005 meeting with CAIR, Fox aired a commercial in which the show's star, Kiefer Sutherland, urged viewers to keep in mind that the show's villains are not representative of all Muslims.

In a written statement issued late Wednesday night, the network said it has not singled out any ethnic or religious group for blame in creating its characters.

"24 is a heightened drama about anti-terrorism," the statement read. "After five seasons, the audience clearly understands this, and realizes that any individual, family, or group (ethnic or otherwise) that engages in violence is not meant to be typical.

"Over the past several seasons, the villains have included shadowy Anglo businessmen, Baltic Europeans, Germans, Russians, Islamic fundamentalists, and even the (Anglo

RE: Muslims protest '24'

There is nothing wrong with realizing who attacked us. It would be foolish to forget (as some already have). I'm not saying all are like this, but I also don't believe in forgetting either.

Have you ever visited the memorial for the Murray Building in Oklahoma City? It's really sad, but something that I believe everyone should visit at least once. I went there back in 2003 while we were visiting my cousin who lives in Midwest City, which is right next to Oklahoma City.

Anti-Government groups by their very nature can't be trusted. They want anarchy. Not a good idea. McVeigh and Nichols were nuts. This is why I don't like these type of people. My opinion is if you don't like it you have three choices. Vote against whoever you don't like, complain your brains out, and/or get out of the country. McVeigh did this to make a statement and who did he hurt. 168 innocent men, women, and worst of all, innocent children. He didn't actually hurt whoever the heck he was trying to hurt, just a bunch of innocents.
