Default 02 DODGE INTREPID BRAKES

[&:]I CHECKED MY FRT BRAKES THIS PAST WEEKEND ON
MY '02 INTREPID,[ COMING & GOING TO CAR SHOW HAD REALLY BAD
SHIMMY WHEN BRAKING HARD ON FREEWAY, WIFES COR SO DONT
DRIVE IT MUCH. I PULLED THE CALIPERS AND ROTORS OFF
TO
INSPECT, THE OUTSIDE EDGE WAS FINE - THE NORMAL WARE WAS THERE
SO JUST GROUND DOWN SMOOTH, FLIP OVER R. FRT TO CHECK INNER
AND IT WAS TOTALLY GLAZED AND PARTIALLY RUSTED ALL BUT ABOUT
1/2 WIDE PART OF INNER WHERE THE PAD WERE ACTUALLY WORKING. TOOK A HAMMER
AND TAPPED ON GLAZED PART AND IT JUST CRUMBLED OFF, BACK TO BARE METAL. NEVER HAD A
ROTOR DO THIS BEFORE AND HAVE DONE MANY MANY BRAKE JOBS.
I GROUND DOWN AND SANDED SMOOTH BOTH SIDES AND THEY WORK LIKE NEW NOW. MY QUESTION IS ANY IDEA'S WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM?????THE GLAZING ONLY HAPPENED ON R. FRT INNER SIDE.
ALSO THE PADS THEMSELVES LOOK TO BE WEARING FINE OTHER THAN NORMAL WEARSAND ED THESE DOWN SMOOTH
ALSO.
YA I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE ROTORS TURNED BUT IT WAS 1:00 AM AND CAR WAS HALF IN THE GARAGE
BECAUSE OF POURING RAIN. HAD TO GET IT SHUT BEFORE I CRASHED. ANY IDEAS ON THIS PROBLEM???????

Default RE: 02 DODGE INTREPID BRAKES

UPDATE ON THE INTREPID BRAKES,
UP IN MICHIGAN NOW AND DID A TOTAL BRAKE JOB ON IT.
TURNED ALL FOUR ROTORS NEW BRAKE PADS IN REAR AND BALANCED THE TIRES
AT MY COUSINGS GARAGE. YOU WOULD BE AMAZED AT THE EQUIPMENT HE HAS.IT WOULD
BE MY DREAM GARAGE...
ANYWAY, THE CAR RIDES LIKE ITS RIGHT OF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR AGAIN.
