Build History

New member here, with a question.

Does Chrysler Corp keep records of the build history of cars? I know that Pontiac can provide lots of detail of how many of each model were built, which body style, engine, transmission, and many other details. Useful to find out if a car you have, or are considering purchasing is a rare model.

Does anyone know if this information is avialable, and if so, where it can be found?

Thanks.

I'm not sure what you are asking, could you provide an example of what you claim Pontiac has that you are wondering if Chrysler has?

He's talking about a build sheet. Better call the customer service line for that.

Just an example, I may not have one or two facts quite right, but it is well documented in the Pontiac world the they built only 4 1968 GTO's that were convertibles, with four speed transmissions. There were more with Auto transmissions, and many more hardtops, etc.

So this is the most rare combination, and most valuable. The data is readily available from General Motors.

Dodge does not have this information on older cars most all the records were destroyed .I am unsure on the newer cars.

there was a rumor circulating a few years back about one of the shipping companies having copies of old lading bills that gave option info...I was never able to confirm it...GM has data available for two groups of people...the Pontiac folks have the Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) which can document cars from the sixties forward. I have also read that GM Canada also has records for GM cars sold there...I am not aware of any source of info for non-Pontiac US cars..(hence the fact that there are more 435hp '67 Corvettes on the road today than Chevrolet ever built!!!)

That's the kind of thing I am talking about. Fact is, if you were interested in buying a GTO, you could verify that it is not a LeMans that was 'cloned' into a GTO.

Back to the origonal question, I am really looking for info on newer Chryslers, say 2004 forward. Does anyone know if that is available?

Thanks.
