Default Are Carter Carbs rare?

Well my new issue of Mopar Muscle came in today, and as always i basically read it front to back. And i read an article where a guy was talking about his Carter carb saying they were rare. I can't find the article and i may be misinterpreting the text, but we have an extra 4-barrel out at our grandparents place and were wondering if we could make some serious buck for an original Carter.

The price depends on the numbers on the carb. If it was off a HEMI it's big money. If it's off a 383 not so much.

exactly, depending on the date codes it could be worth a lot but you also have to understand that it will only be worth it to someone that needs a particular date code for restoration purposes.
