Chrysler Dealers Get Front Seat

Chrysler plans to offer its dealers a glimpse of an electric car it is scrambling to develop.

Chrysler LLC, in a bid to cheer up its dealers, next week plans to offer them a glimpse of an electric car it is scrambling to develop, people familiar with the matter said.

The compact car is supposed to be able to travel about 40 miles on battery power alone, these people said. For longer trips, a small gasoline engine would generate power and keep the battery charged, they said.

They should put solar cells on top too.
That'll help charge it up.
I saw on the news a car that some guy modified all buy himself with solar cells on it.
It worked great.
Electric cars are definitely the wave of the future, for real this time.
Solar energy is the future.
Sometime in the future there might not be gas stations anymore.

Car makers will want to sell cars. Car makers will better be able to sell their cars if they are attractive. It won't take long for them to integrate solar cells, modify the shapes into aesthetically pleasing and compete on selling these types of cars.

I like hydrogen on demand approach. Still very much a traditional internal combustion machine. Of course if you can produce cheap, plentiful, non-pollution producing fuel, then who knows? Maybe the Wenkel engine will make a come back.
