Techman, I think that's kind of an overstatement to say the news media is "hyping" the story (and believe me, I KNOW media hyping). I haven't seen any other broadcasts, but I'd consider this one to be a pretty straight-forward account of an unusual situation. And perhaps it's Internet users -- not the conventional news media -- who are "fixating" on it.
