RE: Dodge Demon Roadster Concept – Simple soul, artful attitude make for radical results

i spoke to someone who has driven the DETCHA car extensively, and he told me that the estimated 13.0 was a joke...

something about that solstice...im guessing that the person who made that picture doesnt know much about cars or racing, as they seem especially impressed that it ran those times in 29 degree weather. cars love cold air...be it NA or turbo, the cool air improves performance...hot air hurts it...so that car might not run those numbers in 80 or 90 degreee weather.

Yes, I understand that cold air is denser and better for burning......the reason why we have intercoolers to begin with.

I wonder how many times these numbers are simulated on computers before they ever really do any actual test runs in real life
just so they can market the product before it is actually finished.

Sometimes a computer can be real close and sometimes real off.

One comment that was made was that even though the drivetrain was changed there was no structural change.

I find that hard to believe since I really don't think the Solstice has a hardened chassis to begin with to take that kind of torque.
