Fourth Fast & Furious Movie Nears Production
I certainly enjoyed the original movie. Having the original cast would be cool.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Sources close to the production of the three films in The Fast & The Furious series have told Inside Line that a fourth installment is on its way. The best guess is that it will show up in theaters worldwide during the summer of 2008.
The project is currently classified merely as "in development" at Universal, with no clear production start date and no announced director. However, it's rumored that the next film will reunite many characters and actors from the first three including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and Lucas Black. Obviously the story will once again center around automotive mayhem of the most intense sort, but the rumor is that this time most of the action will be set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
As to the cars, expectations are that some familiar machinery — like a resurrected version of the blown 1970 Dodge Charger from the original film — will mix it up with such contemporary machinery as the new Dodge Challenger and classic South American muscle like the Chevrolet Opala. Also don't be surprised if Vin Diesel's character finds his way behind the wheel of a classic 1987 Buick GNX.
What this means to you: Here's hoping this next F&F finally answers all the subtle, infinitely nuanced questions of character and motivation raised by the first three.

The "Chally"????? I'm sorry, Joeyr, but you'll be quickly escorted from the theater by alert ushers who ONLY refer to the legendary vehicle as the Challenger. Or Vin Diesel will leap out of the screen, rip off your arm off and beat you over the head with it.

What is a Chally?
I never liked the name Chally.
Dictionary source: Chally - A soft and delicate woolen, or woolen and silk, fabric, for ladies' dresses.
I don't think it refers to an American "bad to the bone" Muscle car.

RE: What is a Chally?
Sounds to me like the making of what Vanishing Point did for the Challenger back in 1971 only in modern times. Very good move on Dodge's behalf, since the Camaro is in Transformers, the Challenger will be in a movie watched by millions of car guys and it will air in the summer of 2008? Well what a coincidence the Challenger will be revealed in the summer of 2008.. Lets just hope it plays a big and good role. Also hope it is in stock form no after market junk except engine work.
On the other hand it could be harmful to us who dont want to pay 50k plus for the Challenger, because you know the dealers are going to use it in their favor to give a markup during the summer if not the whole first year of production of the Challenger.

Sounds like a cool idea... but I wish they wouldn't do it under the guise of yet another tired recycled Fast and the Furious (Slow and the Frustrated?) movie. [sm=badidea.gif] Is it TOO much to ask for a little ORIGINALITY in Hollywood anymore?
Besides, I still haven't forgiven the 2F2F movie for trashing that beautiful 69 Camaro and 70 Challenger like they were nothing but expendable hunks of metal [sm=violent053.gif]

Sounds interesting. The only problem is I think this series is getting to the point where it should be retired. I just hope they don't rice the Challenger or destroy it for that matter. I agree with Yankee about destroying the Camaro and Challenger in 2F2F. How about they destroy that Evo and lame convertible Eclipse. Those are a dime a dozen and were still in production at that time.
