Default High Tech Tires - Look Ma no air!

I don't mind these tires if they work but they are ugly. I think they need to give it some sidewalls.

Just my 2 cents.

These were featured and developed a few years back.....Haven't caught on as yet.....
Maybe still in R&D? .....

SEE THROUGH TIRE

Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.

They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.

This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:

A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...

SCAN DOWN & SEE.

These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

Somehow, I have the feeling they haven't been released because they don't have the bugs worked out . The flexible wheel assembly looks awfully complicated, and I'd imagine you'd get "flat spots" if you happen to park on anything but a nice, flat surface. Also, the tread pattern looks awfully skimpy.

Wait a minute. I know where I've seen those things. We live near some Union Pacific railroad tracks, and every so often little work vehicles owned by the train company go by. Those vehicles have wheels that look amazingly like those things!

Seems like a high hp dragster would core those things doesn't it? Just rip the spokes right out.

I can't see those tires working to well in one of our wonderful Michigan winters....

Shoot, without air, you could have mechanical spikes that come out of the tire at the push of a button.

How is that for snow traction?

HAHA, that would work... but I think it would also extend Michigan’s other season... Road construction

wow, you could have a regular 007 car with spiked tires.

DBS, meet your replacement, 2008 Hennessey Challenger SRT700.

THAT would be a Bond movie worth watching(Not saying the others aren't good. Casino Royale was a cool movie, and I almost cried when Bond rolled the DBS. He should have just ran over Vespa)
