Don't care for Toyota, Honda and the rest. Ugly for the most part; don't like the styling. Performance is not impressive for most either. A new report on the WRX STI shows a nearly 36K starting price. Fuel economy was listed as 24mpg highway(18 city) BEFORE the new mpg standards so it will be a little less than that now. From a 4cyl? weight is only 3200lbs? That's terrible. A friend of mine got a 350Z a couple of years ago. I know a lot of people say the Challenger's interior is bad but I just couldn't stand to look at the 350Z everyday. The door panels looked like flat slabs of nothing. My SRT-4 Neon was faster for a lot less coin. I also wish the Challenger were made here in the states but just because Honda has a plant in Ohio doesn't mean it's American. The Challenger was designed by car nuts HERE.

i agree.. the challenger interior could use an upgrade... i personally would be willing to fork out an extra $1,000 to $1,500 for an upgraded interior with a sportier steering wheel. That is on my wish list for the 09's.[sm=smiley23.gif]

That should be a option with some more gauges and 3 spoke steering wheel.

Davecpa, DKchallenger, I agree with both of you on those points. This was one area where the concept shined in many ways. The steering wheel would be a big one for sure since you are always directly in front of it. One disappointment was not getting an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter. Most car guys like to have at least these gauges in addition to water temp. The aftermarket can correct this for sure but it would be nice to see it coming with the car.

This is absolutely great and I am with ya Bro. For me, I will give credit where it is due, and the truth is that Honda, Toyota, and Nissan all build quality vehicles. No doubt about it. That's where it ends for me though. The three of them to me though just build some quirky looking vehicles that just don't excite me. Sure, American Manufacturers have not been so perfect either, see the Sebring as an example, but Honda and Toyotas are just so blase I cringe when looking at them. The Civic for gosh sakes looks like a shoe horn of a vehicle. I think American Manaufacturers are onto something for the most part, with Challenger, 300, new Chrysler minivans (if you like them), Journey, Cadilac CTS, Saturn Aura, Chevy Malibu, all are gonna keep at the Japanese and hopefully will begin to convince American buyers again that we actually can design and build a great car here in the US.

With that said, I'll jump onto Mopar2ya's bandwagon and stick with Mopar, namely a shiny new sublime SRT8 Challenger.
