tdub, I'm not really sure what you need, but here is a lot of good information right here.

https://dodgechallenger.com/history/...er-history.asp
https://dodgechallenger.com/history/...er-history.asp
https://dodgechallenger.com/history/...er-history.asp
https://dodgechallenger.com/history/...er-history.asp
https://dodgechallenger.com/concept/
https://dodgechallenger.com/concept/specs/
https://dodgechallenger.com/concept/engine/

Besure that your instructor is okay with this as a source and remember to sight you source when you use it so then you don't get in trouble with plagarism. If this doesn't fulfill your needs, I would suggest going to Borders or Barnes and Noble to pick up a Chrysler muscle car book if you need more info on the classic Challengers. The problem is we have only a limited knowledge about what the Challenger is going to have. If you need anything else just ask.

OK, Thanks i Just got told i only have to turn in tomorrow so i can finish off my paper with your sources and an old muscle car book my dad has.
I can't belive you could buy a Challenger for $2000 back when it was new. Now you can't find a new cool ride for under $20,000.

RE: Need Challenger Paper Help QUICK!!!

And now you can't get the ones from the seventies for that either. Even the junk ones go for more than $2000.00. Wow supply and demand at its finest. I just wish they had made more, so those who want one could restore and drive one. You would see alot more on the street, but with so few, people are leary of driving them on the street. I know that investments are made on these cars, but I'm not in it for the money. I'm in it for the joy of the ride:D

The only thing is you need to be careful with what the teacher will allow for a source. Some teachers refuse to acknowledge wikipedia as a source.

Really, then you did a good job on that. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it, I'm just telling you I know teachers and I have had a few say they will give an automatic F if anyone uses wikipedia or any or their versions.

Well it's true that there is alot of bogus info on Wikipedia and many won't count it as a credible source as a result.

And thanks for the compliment - I'm sure my contributions might contain an innocent error or two, but I always did my best.

If you liked the Challenger article, I also did the Barracuda, Chevy Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Dodge Charger (B- and L-body) articles among many (MANY) others. Didn't know you had a minor celebrity amongst you all, did ya? :D

You're more than welcome Yankee. Even if there might be a few minor errors, there are tons in about every issue of Motor Trend. Just take a look at their hp ratings and listed displacement when they do either cars or trucks. It can be quite amusing.

Well I didn't know we had another. I believe our Administrator wrote the article on their about the Dodge Mirada as he would certainly know enough to do a more than sufficient job on it.

Out of curosity do you write reviews and histories on cars for a living or just a hobby and are good at it.

Yankee 10-18-2007 06:20 PM

RE: Need Challenger Paper Help QUICK!!!

No, that was yours truly that did the Dodge Mirada article (and the Cordoba article too) - I've probably done about 35-40 of them altogether. I would still be a contributor if they hadn't changed much of their format that I never agreed with, that's why I haven't written an article in awhile. I think my last one was on the Pontiac Grand Am, and that was about 3 months ago.

And no, I certainly don't do this for a living, it's just a hobby and it's out of a true genuine love for cars - nothing more. ;)

Well, since we have a celebrity amongst us......we need to have your sign our Challengers when we get them. :D

i didnt write the wikicars review, i wrote this mirada review..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Mirada

as well as every word of information on this sites home page.

In that mirada review, you said that they wouldnt smoke the tires...:(

My 1983 mirada with the stock trans and rearend, stock 318 with just the leanburn replaced, would roast one tire...:D however, youre 100% right that the slant 6 models wouldnt do it..i had two of them, and they barely turned the tires in the snow...[&:]

not to change the subject, but for those of you who dont frequent DF, Amanda and I did a photoshoot for an upcoming release of a new dodge enthusiast magazine. i told the guy what i do for a living, and he asked for some examples of my work. i sent him a link to this site, as well as a few of my other reviews, and he had me write a short review of the new challenger for the dodge enthusiast mag...im hoping that it will make it into the magazine. he commented that the picture of amanda and I together with her truck and the stratus might be on the cover...[8D]

RE: Need Challenger Paper Help QUICK!!!

Well good luck with your review 1 Bad, that would be quite an honor if you're selected.

I've always thought it was a shame that the Mirada wasn't a bigger success than it was - it was a great looking car, better looking than its GM competitors (Chevy Monte Carlo, Olds Cutlass Supreme, etc) IMHO, but I guess it was the right car for the wrong time. I'm sure if it had been introduced a few years earlier it would have been a much greater success.

Okay that explains everything. We have at least two writers amongst us. 1 Bad Mirada, if your article gets published be sure to let us know so then we can buy a copy of the magazine. Congrats to you and Amanda on all of this.

There you go! Good thinking. I'd like to have both signatures on it since it is supposed to have both of your vehicles on it.

I agree that the mirada was better looking than many of the other cars from that year. i have the original car and driver introducing the mirada, and it was compared to the 1980 pontiac grand prix, 1980 toyota celica supra, 1980 datsun 200sx...the mirada didnt do well against those cars, but i dont understand why it was compared to those cars at all...i think that it just needed more power, which my dad and I took care of...:)

as for the magazine, i guess that we will find out what happens...everyone i know wants one if it pans out...i hope for now that we can get one...:D

Interesting. Could you either post the comparison of the powertrains and acceleration times or at least tell me which engines they used against each other. Based on what I read, I would think that the 360 model would have been the most powerful offering out of all of them.

If it comes to pass, just let us know.

RE: Need Challenger Paper Help QUICK!!!

ill try to dig it out. we used to have it displayed in the dodge room, but in the needs for more room, we have packed up ALOT of stuff. another thing that ive wondered...ive seen the curb weight of the mirada listed several times as being under 4000lbs, but that must be a dry weight. my mirada has SIGNIFICANT weight reduction, including fiberglass hood and trunk lid, manual steering, manual brakes, no heater accessories, lightweight front seats, rear seat delete, the trunk is completely empty, and with SO little fuel that the gas guage wont register, it still weighed 3700ish (like 3697 or something). keep in mind, that is a track weight, which includes me in the car...before the weight reduction for the car, the track weight was well over 4000lbs.
