New R/T Purchase. Help?
Hey everyone...new member here. I have spent the last several years in the Corvette world, and while I love the cars, I went to look at the new Challengers yesterday since I had owned a 1970 440-Magnum R/T in the early '80's. I had seen many pictures of the car but never looked up close. I was floored. I can honestly say my heart was racing a bit as I looked over the car. I've been contemplating either trading in my 2001 Vette (105K miles on it) for a new one or putting $5000-$6000 in it to bring it up to stuff. When I saw the R/T, ALL those plans went out the window AND when I found out Chrysler is now offering 0% financing, the window got firmly shut.
So here's what I need to know: I'll be heading out to make a purchase in a few days. I'm looking at a fully loaded R/T with an MSRP of about $37,900, and this dealership already has taken $2000 off the MSRP. Do you think I can successfully bring them down a few more thousand given the current climate? And if so, how much more off should I shoot for and/or be happy with? I'm going to try no matter what, but I'd like to know going in what I can reasonably expect. Thanks in advance for any help. :) |

Never hurts to ask, I've seen loaded up 6 speed (without nav however) R/Ts for just over 35K. They seem willing to deal so go for it!

Every situation is different, but I think $35,000 -$35,500 would be the basement.

RE: New R/T Purchase. Help?
Thanks guys. I spent last evening removing all of my belongings from my Vette. I'll be headed for the dealership after work today to see about making this a reality. I'm hoping to have the car by tomorrow.
The one I have my eye on is a Black R/T, fully loaded including pushbutton start and HID lights. Dealer wants 35,900 for it. Wish me luck! ;) |
