Obedient motorist crashes on satnav command

Now another obstacle to be aware of as we increase our actions because of the rapid growth of technology.

BERLIN (Reuters) - A 46-year-old German motorist driving along a busy road suddenly veered to the left and ended up stuck on a railway track -- because his satellite navigation system told him to, police said Sunday.

The motorist was heading into the north German city of Bremen "when the friendly voice from his satnav told him to turn left," a spokesman said.

"He did what he was ordered to do and turned his Audi left up over the curb and onto the track of a local streetcar line. He tried to back up off the track but got completely stuck."

The police spokesman said about a dozen trams were held up until a tow truck arrived to clear the car off the track.

Several German motorists have crashed their cars in recent months, later telling police they were only obeying orders from their satnavs.

This shows the danger of being as stupid as sheep. Technology screws up, that is why God gave us common sense (something that is sadly disappearing).

I do wonder sometimes about some people. Especially the ones who think D.C. stands for Da Capital who are supposed to be our teachers!

Yes I think that was on "Jay Walk" (The Tonight Show with Jay Leno) one time. My mom got so disgusted when she heard that, and geography isn't one of her strengths. Another time I think they might have got the same fools and asked them how the crack was developed in the Liberty Bell "I think someone dropped it." And they wonder why our education system is in trouble, the Pink Panther has taught them that myth in the form of a joke.
