Personal Truck Shootout

Well. this weekend I had the oppertunity to drive all three 1/2 pickups.

-Grandpa's 2005 F-150 with the 5.4 Triton and a Hypertech Programmer
-Buddies 2007 Sierra with the 6.0 Vortec and a Magnaflow Cat back exhaust
-Other Grandpa's bone stock Ram with the 5.7 Hemi

I drove the Sierra on Friday running errands with my buddy. The truck was resonsive, sounded great and had plenty of grunt. The seat's we nice and back seat is roomy.

Then Saturday I had Senior Ball and borrowed Grandpa's Ram. That was FUN. The rumble of that Hemi was music even stock. Taking it up to 65 was quick and slid you back into the seat. There was no problem with acceleration, or lag. The seat's we comfy, but still needed some breaking in. And then back seat had a little less room than the GMC, but not much. (it's a quad and not a crew cab)

Then that Sunday we had a birthday party and just for kicks and giggles i drove my other grandpa's F-150. For year he has been talking smack that it was the baddest truck out there. Then he chipped it. (appearently it was lacking somewhere) No idea what it's putting out in the way of pony's, but it can be much more than stock. I took it on relatively the same route as i did the Ram, good acceleration, decent ride, and the seat's are nice a broke in. But grandpa's put 120K+ on the thing, so it's been around the block. The back seat was my favorite of the 3.

All in all the Ram is still the king, it may not have the biggest back seat, but i prefer to be in the drivers seat when i'm in it. Where it lacks in Roominess with the quad cab it makes up in shear fun-to-drive factor. watching that speedo click past the digits and hearing the crackle of that Hemi was just... magical. You guy's know what I'm talking about. The GMC was nice, had power, and room, it's a middle ground between the two. I'd take it over the Ford.

I just wish Grandpa had bought the Laramie Crew Cab.

The Lightnings are sweet trucks. As are S10's. Never had the chance to drive one but i see a few running around town.
