I was reading in the latest Motor Trend and they were complaining about the new Lincoln Navigator's gauges. If I was going to spend around $50,000, I would move on to a different vehicle just because these gauges look dumb. Can you say 70-80s

Yeah, not appealing at all. Their research department need to be sh^%canned if they said this is what the public wanted.

I mean are they blind? A luxury car is supposed to be cutting edge. Yes sometimes it looks nice to have a little classic luxury look to it, like say the gauges Chrysler used from the late 90s to earily 00s in cars like the 300M. Those looked classy because it looked like a Rolex watch.

These look like a Ford or GM truck from the late 70s to earily 80s and it doesn't look fancy at all. I think the problem with the Lincoln division is they are no longer a luxury division, they are a division who wants to bring back the old tacky styles that died out a long time ago. They should be canned if they aren't going to put in any really effort.

Seems like Lincoln is catering to real old rich people. Their marketing seems to have it all wrong.

Those gauges reminds of when I was getting loud noises evertime my Challenger rolled over but not when I stopped.

Turns out that I had the remove the instrument cluster, then the speedo and totally pull the long cable that goes from the speedo to the transmission.

I greased it with axle grease, slid it back in, and guess what.........no more noise.

These days no matter what the modern gauge looks like, it is all being fed my an electrical signal and no more thick steel cables.....and technology marches on.

Your right about that. Frankly they are going after a dying market. Doesn't leave for much for their market future. Bad planning, or no planning for that matter.
