SRT Track Day?
 

OK, Cuda340 has been making some really excellent points on the attractiveness of the RT vs. SRT option. Particularly Gas Guzzler Tax, Warranty and potential 380HP version possibly on the way.

One of my personal reasons for wanting the SRT is track day and having the most powerful offering (but the latter could wain as the RT approaches 400hp and Chrysler having a respected reputation for underestimating ponies).

I know there are some SRT owners on this forum. To those, I pose the questions:

1. Have you been to track day?

and

2. if the difference in performance were nominal (not that it will be, but just hypothetically), would the SRT club experience be enough additional value to warrant the purchase?

Cuda340, your arguments really make the RT (if the upgrade happens) VERY ATTRACTIVE.

Well if you don't own an SRT it's "only" a $500 charge to participate in SRT Track Day... guess you could weigh the savings of an R/T over an SRT8 - the extra purchase cost, gas, having to use premium, higher maintenance/insurance, et al - even with the extra $500 Track Day charge, you could still come out way ahead.

Don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely LOVE a Charger SRT8... but if I buy one (a new one, that is), the Track Day will be a nice little bonus, but it's hardly a final decision maker in my book.

So it's $500 for one day? Or is it like a club fee? I thought there were other advantages to it as well, in addition to SRT Track day.

How 'bout Cuda340's argument for a RT? Compelling if they bump the HP to 380....throw a K&N air intake system (assuming they work as advertises) bump it 20 or 30 HP...watch out...

Nice find. I might have to take advanage of that next year. Maybe they will have some Challengers to use.
