Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
I thought everybody would enjoy a few extras topics for discussion since it has been a little slow on the forum lately.
Things will probably not perk up until we get close to August 19. This here is a topic I picked to provide hopefully an interesting discussion. According to to a poll taken in a book of the Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time: 20. Thunder Road 1958 19. Terminator 2: Judgement Day 1991 18. The Rock 1996 17. The Bourne Identity 2002 - one of my favorite movies 5. Le Professionnel 1981 4. The Italian Job 1969 3. The Sevens Ups 1973 2. Ronin 1998 The further the discussion any body want to take a guess at what # 12 and #1 is????????????????????????? 1. |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
Transporter?
Before I saw the list, I would have expected Ronin to be up there. That was an awesome chase scene. |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
#1 has got to be Bullit.
#12 has got to be Vanishing Point. |

RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
Which chase scene from Terminator 2? There is quite a few. The one in the S.W.A.T. truck, the one in the S-10, the one between the Freightliner vs. the Harley and moped, the one in the LTD Crown Vic cop car. Which one.
My only problem with Bullit is I heard they had to drive slower with the Charger because the Mustang wasn't fast enough. I like the movie makers to be accurate. |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
Yea, that is funny that you say that because it all done by computers and special effects, now nobody cares about accuracy. Everybody just want to be woowed and wowed at the movies. Look at he Fast and the Furious and the Matrix 2.........all special effects but it does look cool but scientifically very accurate.
They were as accurate as they could be back in the day and they used many cars at high speed. They have reduced this cost and increased safety with special effects computers. |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
I wonder why didn't the James Bond flick "Diamonds are Forever" with the Red Mach II Mustang make it in the top twenty poll?
I'll post the #1 and #12 on Wednesday evening. |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
I WOULD HAVE TO SAY CRAZY LARRY AND DIRTY MARY [YELLOW DODGE CHARGER GREAT FLICK #12
AND VANISHING POINT 1 AND VANISHING POINT 2 |
RE: Top Twenty Movie Car Chases of All Time
There was that movie with John Wayne and his Formula Firebird, The Man with the Golden Gun (AMX Hornet-AMC did try) but I believe the best was Bullit.
