What Are You Doing for Thanksgiving?
My immediate-family is coming up to visit me and I'm going to stay with them at my Grandparent's house. I hope to see a movie over the break as well. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

RE: What Are You Doing for Thanksgiving?
Going to Prescott to relax for a few days & enjoy some cold weather. I recommend Borat if yo uwant to see something funny. It is really wrong in a couple scenes (some senior citizens actually left at one point) but I can't remember laughing harder.
Everybody enjoy...by next year at this time we will all be in a rabid frenzy debating colors and engine sizes. [8D]

On the day, doing the usual family get together at my cousins. The rest of the weekend, trim a tree in the back yard. Reorganize the garage. I have been bad about not putting tools away after projects and leaving tools and what not on the workbench. And now it is driving me crazy.

RE: What Are You Doing for Thanksgiving?
I am going to chill. Between the bricks I layed(shown on a previous post), fixing fences, puting up ceiling fans and motion detectors, finalizing yard work for the winter, trimming bushes, and washing and waxing cars, I think I am finished with the gotta does, and honey does. My wife and son are driving thru College Station, TX to pick up my other son at Texas A&M and driving to Houston for the holidays. Since my inlaws are full blooded cajun, we are going the have deep fried turkey with the rest of the clan, then do our usual going to the movies on Thanksgiving in the afternoon and will probably see James Bond. We have been watching movies for the last 25 years every Thanksgiving so there is no need to break tradition now.
If you guys have never heard of deep fried Cajun turkey, you need to try it once and you will never go back. First off, guys get to do the cooking and it only takes 45 minutes tops instead of the usual 3-4 hours. The cooking is done outside and so everybody can gather around and shoot the bull.
The meat is moist and tender and not dry like most.
You can get these cooking kits at Academy Sporting Goods, Walmart, mailorder, and other major stores or you can buy the stuff in piece parts.......like the cooking stove, big aluminum deep frying pot, peanut oil, injection needle to inject the spices in the turkey etc..
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys and gals and your families. Let me know if you tried the Cajun fried turkey.

RE: What Are You Doing for Thanksgiving?
Awsure, I look forward to debating about those colors as I will finally be finished with my sentence, oh I mean college.
erz5005, good luck on your trip. From what I have heard, NYC traffic can be troublesome. Enjoy "Casino Royal!"
TechmanBD, happy cleaning. Don't work too hard, you probably need a brake.
Jeremiah, you've earned yourself a nice break. I hope you enjoy your visit with your children as well as your in-laws. Enjoy "Casino Royal!" I'm thinking about getting my cousins together to watch it on one of the evenings.
I thank you for your advice about the Cajun turkey, but my Grandmother is the cook and there is no way I'm going to convince her to change (I can't even get her to change from writing with a pencil to a PC, and she writes a lot). Besides she lives up to the excellent cook reputation associated with Grandmothers as it is, I don't want to change her way of cooking because I look forward to it just the way it is. I'll have to try that sometime when I have a stove of my own.
If I don't get another chance to talk to you guys before the vacation, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless!

RE: What Are You Doing for Thanksgiving?
im going to struggle through a dinner with my AWFUL in laws...
then on friday my parents will come to visit, and we will actually have a good meal, where the conversation isnt mindless and the food isnt all over or under cooked.

I hope you have a nice visit with your parents. I'll keep you in my prayers that your visit with your in-laws will be a more positive experience. Happy Thanksgiving Patrick.

Good luck on getting the dirt bike running. Let us know what mods you were able to add to your Mustang in process.
