RE: Original Paint Color '71 R/T?

There were definitely some chocolate brown Challengers made. I also remember seeing a chocolate brown T/A during the last ten years. I think this chocolate brown T/A was used in an advertisement in...

RE: Dodge shutting down

Thanks for the clarification. Since we can't hear what the other person is saying, or see that person or get to know them face-to-face, then a person's written word can be misconstrued. I also...

RE: Dodge shutting down

Good question about "why is the problem suddenly over because they got a govt. loan"? The loan only takes them through the next fiscal quarter, which isn't long enough to solve the problems. Maybe...

RE: Dodge shutting down

The following is in response to your post to my post, which was as follows:

So THAT's where the "dem" in your name comes from. I bet you're a man, too. There are a number of things I could...

RE: Chrysler is Auctioning off 6.1 Liter HEMI Assembly line

Who cares about the "mundane" 425 horse 6.1 liter? If you just want to have a little fun on the cheap, then buy the 5.7 for $10G less (R/T vs. SRT). Then hop up the 5.7L a little by reprograming it...

RE: Dodge shutting down

Quit worrying! The hard part is over, Ma Mopar and GM have bridge loan money coming after they sign on the dotted line Dec. 29. Trust me, the CEOs and investors are breathing a sigh of relief. ...

RE: Original Paint Color '71 R/T?

I can help you (again) with some of your questions regarding your 71. First tan or saddle was one of the interior option colors for vinyl bucket seats according to the 1971 Challenger Illustrated...

RE: 1970 HAMTRAMCK REGISTRY LEGIT/BOGUS?

This is a legit web site, run by a long-time enthusiast Barry Washington. He also has a registry for T/A and AAR cars. I sent him the VINs of my two Challengers, plus copies of their broadcast...

RE: 392 Super Stock Challenger

Great article! Obviously the Challenger Super Stocker even impressed a snobby (?) auto journalist who probably has written a lot of favorable articles about refined, wine-sipping imports like the...

RE: Factory Spy Photos

Having bought my first Challenger in the Fall of 1975 and having owned one continuouslysince then, I guess I can say I have a lot of experience with them. Frankly there was really only one thing...

RE: Rally Gauge Cluster

Finding the instruments may just be the hardest part. You can get the tach brand new. Check Mopar Collector's Guide magazine. The rest of the instruments are not being repoped (that I know of). ...

Just Dashes door panels

I just got my door panels back from Just Dashes where they restored them. These were the car's original white panels and we all know how the grain holds up on white E-body panels, but mine still had...

RE: What to do with a 72

I did not see the movie, but true enough there are a lot of Dukes fans out there and they love all of the Dukes' shows. My six year-old likes the Dukes and we watch it together. That would indicate...

RE: A decades-old battle will soon re-ignite.

I fought in the last muscle car war, at least in the closing battles during the mid and late 70's. It was a blast. It's funny how times may change but some things really don't. The Mustang was a...

RE: Hi Y'all

I think that she should let you buy a new Hemi SRT Challenger when they are available. Even if the SRT has a lower horsepower rating than the Shelby version of the Stang, I have a feeling that with...

RE: sun or moon roof? help!

"ED1971PA" is incorrect when he states you could only get a power sunroof with the SE option on the Challenger in 1970.

What he is confused over is that you had to get a vinyl top when you...

RE: sun or moon roof? help!

Moparman390 is both right and wrong when he states that the fender tag does not show the sunroof option on it. He is also both wrong and right when he says the assembly line worker did not need to...

RE: sun or moon roof? help!

The correct term in 1970-71 was a sunroof and not a moonroof. The moonroof term came into use in the mid-70s when Chrysler started to heavily promote this option in the Cordoba and B-body line.
