I'm a Carbon Fiber freak and that CF piece around the tail section is just too sweet.

I don't see how, as it is expensive because CF is labor intensive. I doubt it was checked for crash testing either.

I don't know, I bet a lot of the weight is coming from making this car to be a tank in terms of safety like their other recent models.

to cost.

Oh! Okay, I see what your getting at. That would make sense. I still doubt there would be a very big safety difference anyways. These newer models are extremely safe these days.

I agree that CF is probably safe these days but the design has to be changed because because CF acts differently to impacts than metal
so you have the make the corresponding design changes which adds to the cost.
