Challenger Ad
The first Challenger advertisement is out- two billboard ads of a Challenger being chased by a Charger cop car. The ads were spotted on two trucks in Las Vegas. See http://www.newhemitech.com/ :)

RE: Challenger Ad
Is that the concept car? The front end looks a little shorter and stockier. And are those b-pilars? Seems to me it may be the production car....:D

RE: Challenger Ad
No doubt that's the production car! The headlights and grill both appear to be different from the concept. Notice the orange color to the inside set of headlamps on the production car? The concept shows a series of round LED lights that illuminate around the circumference of those inner lights...I don't recall them ever being lit up in orange on the concept from any pics I saw.
As I mentioned the grill looks different too...the concept appears to show a (hope I'm getting this terminology correct) a cross-hair grill. The production doesn't seem to have that horizontal chrome bar running across the center like the concept has. In my humble opinin these differences are fine with me. My greatest concern is that the hood/front end will get shortened and end up looking like that of a Charger. SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!! |
RE: Challenger Ad
true that! The snub nosing of the Charger makes the front look closer to that of an Audi TT than to that of Mopar origins..... when it first came out I photo shopped the front to be longer, thought it was a truer homage to muscle-car-dom.

RE: Challenger Ad
Are we looking at the same picture or am I missing something? I can't see a grill or headlights...just a side profile of a billboard. Are there more pics that I am not seeing?
|
RE: Challenger Ad
Sorry for the confusion

RE: Challenger Ad
I think awsure was talking more about the picture on the billboard. He can't see the lights or anything. One thing that kind of makes me think it's not the production car, on the billboard, is the door handles. They don't match the one that's driving around with the camo.

RE: Challenger Ad
Thanks bro. Those inner lamps look like amber running lights rather than true headlights to me. I really like the look of the rear brake light on the concept. I cannot really tell from these pics if that looks altered as well. I hope they keep it.

RE: Challenger Ad
Looks like the car on the billboard is the Concept car. I was hoping it was the production car!
|
RE: Challenger Ad
CONCEPT CAR!!!! dodge will not show that car to the public till feb. 2008, the dealers got to see 2 production cars this week in vegas, we had people all over watching for cameras and cell phones with cameras, some people did get photos but we caught them and erased the photos.:D
|
RE: Challenger Ad
i also agree that its a concept...
champcar, nothing from dodge at SEMA about the challenger? |
RE: Challenger Ad
You meanie...let a few grainy cell phone pics out. You coulda just laid a hot chick over the hood to distract people.
|
RE: Challenger Ad
All I'm saying is the test mule in these pics appear to be different from the original concept that I am familiar with and therefore I'm under the belief that it is more than likely the production car. It's not as if it's surrounded by velvet ropes on a carousel at some car show or in the center of a dealership's showroom! I think this is the final product under camoflauge.

RE: Challenger Ad
Nah, it's the concept car. Look at some of the pics of the concept vs. production models undergoing tests that have been posted on this forum. The biggest differences seen thus far are the door handles and the rear-view mirrors. It's clearly the concept car.

RE: Challenger Ad
I think he is right about the shrouded car in the link...it's production. Why would they cover up the concept car when they have already driven it around uncovered? That makes NO SENSE! The only reason to hide it is if it is something we have not seen yet. A la - production.
Besides, the door handles are clearly different as well as the inner headlamps. I can't make out much more but that's my untrained eye. The billboard pics are the concept certainly but these "spy pics" I would have to say are the production version. |
RE: Challenger Ad
That's what I meant. The billboard picture is the concept. The ones under shrouding are clearly the production cars.
|
RE: Challenger Ad
VINDICATION! Lol
|
RE: Challenger Ad
So we're all just talking about the same thing and fighting over it. lol Ok, to get it straight, we all agree that the bilboard is the concept right? Now, the camo car is the production right? Good, now let's go have a drink.

RE: Challenger Ad
LOL! Good idea.

RE: Challenger Ad
This has been one of the funniest posts I have ever seen. Kinda like a bunch of squirrels running around in the backyard and everybody is trying to find that one nut.
Bottom line is there is a bunch of nuts in the backyard anyway. ROFL! |
RE: Challenger Ad
Jeremiah, I'd have to agree this is one of the funniest posts I've read...considering you can look at the topic "Photos from 2007 Woodward Dream Cruise" which I posted, click on the link, and see the full size pictures of these billboard trucks that were running up and down Woodward Avenue on August 18 of this year, well before these Vegas photos.

RE: Challenger Ad
