Default 2008 Challenger

Any body hear anything about the 6.4 Hemi (392 ci 505 HP crate motor DCX anounced at SEMA) with a 6 sp manual going into the first year of production?
I have also heard that the concept was designed to accommodate a convertable

Mostly just rumors but certainly has some possibilities. The LY platform is supposed to accomodate the manual transmission but I am not sure about a convertible.

No reason it could not be done.....just a little stiffening the chassis( making it weight about 200lbs more) and it would work.

If you are buying or own a muscle car.....gas prices should never be an issue.

That is kinda like being a window washer and being afraid of heights. The two go hand in hand.

yeah I know that but as mass production the car would not sell well, they are trying to sell the car to more then just the muscle car fans

Mass production my seat cushion, if they want big production #'s they will have to build a V6 version (for the entry level hemi heads) then a 5.7 version (for mild mannered hemi heads) then a 6.1 version (for the more serious boys and girls) then a 6.4 CUDA version (for real muscle hemi heads like me) the 6.4 CUDA may only sell a few hundred units but I would pay $50k for a HEMI Vette eater wouldn't you? Then think of the marketing potential in Nascar, win on sunday sell on monday!!!! By the way can anyone tell me why I am refered to as a slant six member, that is real insulting LOL.

Very good answer purnrg. You took the words out of my mouth.

Yes you are a slant six because you are new. After you have been here for a will you will get a higher ranking.

Thanks I would never own a 6 banger again (had a dodge ram with a slant 6 back in 80 and it never did run very good) as for the 6.4 dcx has it why not use it right?

Why would you call the 6.4L model a Cuda? Although the Cuda may be more well known, the Cuda was a Plymouth and the Dodge verisons are more preformance orientated.

There is alot of mystique surrounding the Cuda and even more surrounding the Hemi Cuda, I owned one in 77 (a 71 cuda ragtop with a hemi that originally had I think a 383), so lets not forget DCX is about selling cars and to sell cars you need marketing and advertising is a big part of marketing so it goes without saying that this type of mystique is worth millions in advertising.
