Z06 VS GT500? ok somebody on the mustang site had this on there and was talking about the gt500 would beat the z06. please the z06 would smoke the gt500 in first gear!!! and then somebody said the gt500 was made to compete with the srt8 charger!!! no it was not, totally two different cars! it was made to compete with the vette and imports.

 

This goes to show you......everybody has an opinion and not eveybody knows what they are talking about.

But that is just my opinion. LOL!

 

the Z06 is a supercar in quality and performance...too bad the rest of GM is garbage...

you dont agree that things like the aveo and the cobalt arent exactly the pinnacle of quality?

 

Lets see 505 hp & 470 ft-lbs vs. 475 hp & 475 ft-lbs of torque. The Corvette is more aerodynamic, weighs less, has a flatter power band. The '04 Cobra vs. a '04 Corvette, the Cobra produced 390 hp & 390 ft-lbs of torque vs. the Corvette produced 350 hp & 365 ft-lbs of torque, and the show downs I read had the Corvette wining. No chance! The Z06 will blow the GT500 away. I think the GT500 will just barely beat the base model Corvette, if its likely.

 

I agree the Vette is the hands down winner. Doubters? Take it to the track for a TRUE test.

 

The new Corvette was designed to compete with other supercars not other musclecars. This car was designed 2 years ago and using technologies from the races to develop this new engine.

This was all before the new Muscle Car race we are in.

The new Corvette is very very fast.

those numbers are watered down...it is proving to have far more than 505hp.

 

I can believe that as they came from January 2006 reports.
