Default Governor

Alright, I'm on my way into work today, it's about 5 am, nobody on the road... so I'm thinking alright let's open her up a little on the highway. I take off and I'm just climbing through the gears and then no sooner when I hit just above 140mph she gives up on me. The only time I've seen this before was on my '98 Dakota but then I added the Hypertech Programmer and turned off the governor. Can anybody verify for me that these cars do have a governor on them and if not why would my RT do this? I know it has 150+ mph capabilities!

It is limited on top speed. If you get the Predator tuner you can change the limit.

Had mine dynoed after adding kooks headers and x pipe and the speed limiter took it out at 145. Ordered tuner to remedy this problem

They must be afraid that flimsy plastic grill can't take the speed. I've not pushed mine above 130 . Doubt if I will . But I'd like for it to run free if I want it to.
